About This Game

What Is Uagi-Saba?

Uagi-Saba is a creature care simulator that takes place deep underground. Raise, care for and breed magical beings known as Mystics while harvesting resources, expanding sanctuary and exploring.

In-Depth Genetics

Uagi-Saba uses a realistic genetics system, every body part has two genes which can be passed on from parents to offspring resulting in thousands of body part combinations. Stats, skin pigment and many other parts of a mystic's DNA also have their own unique genes and can be passed on through breeding.
Recessive and dominant genes, resistance to sickness, mutations and the incorporation of "wild" genetics. It's all possible...

"A species at the end of it's line encased in a speedy ship, travelling across the stars with a sleeping creature in it's underbelly.
Hoping to rekindle the fire, a second chance at life they sped towards the planet to find their sanctuary.
But it the end what they found was only the darkness and a slow death.
They were playing with very life itself and now they would pay with their own.
Sometimes though from death springs new life and something below that cold soil still moves." The Writings of Uagi-Gretumo-Saba

Uagi-saba is one of those games that makes the world better for existing. It has such an amazing art style that has been expertly hand painted and is unique to this awesome developer. There is an great amount of depth to the games mechanics but its easy enough to get going once you understand the basics. The mystics are incredible and the genetics system is really unique. The sound and music is also extremly well made and adds to this immersive and relaxing game. You can tell that the developer loves this game and that is always a pleasure to see. I have watched this game being developed over several years on the developers Twitch channel and its amazing to play something I have been following with such interest for so long. I strongly recomend this game and cannot wait to play the finished version. Support a great developer and buy this game.

So... I just got off the game after an hour and I'm still not quite sure how to describe my experience with it. Just think a 'dafuq' expression of that one Professor Snape meme and you would get the gist of how I'm doing about now. So where to start? I've been looking for a game like Uagi-Saba for a while. A game where you can interact and have a grand ol' time of raising and nurturing some fine creatures down a series of generations for funsies. Creatures, but with a more modern artistic update if you will. Uagi-Saba does that. It sets you up with a possible line of story about 'an ancient race going off and colonizing a world while keeping a last great creature in slumber... Yadda, yadda, yadda' (which is actually pretty intriguing to think about as you realize by the designs the sort of pseudo-advanced tribal stone lifestyle going around throughout the game) and then throws you straight into the little modular base management gameplay. From there, it's essentially a balance betw...

The same song and dance that we hear so many times before. The games good BUT..... it needs some tweaking , minor bugs , blah early access , blah , blah. To me its like trying your luck at slot machines or something like that. You sink your time and money into some game and you hope to hit a jackpot of fun for awhile. That sums up a lot of games in this stage of development. The price is fair and if you cant afford that then you might need to find a new hobby really. The bottom line is for me yes i like it and since i already bought it im in for the ride to the end and i hope it turns out for the best.

One of the best creature breeder's I've played. Also has some base building elements like what you would find in something like fallout shelter. The art is gorgeous and the game has such a cozy feeling to it in general. Def recommend.

I was excited upon finding this game that seems inspired by the old game Creatures, though I didn't play it, I like genetics games. Currently I do not find this game very engaging. The pace is extremely slow, made slower by the lack of speed options. There are some design choices that limit my entertainment. The creatures cannot walk around or interact with each other or the environment. They sit in their room, being animated simply to breathe and not much else. Additionally I notice it's been a long while since the game was updated...

I enjoyed this game a great deal, but encountered recurring bugs. At some point in every game, I got a white pop-up window mentioning some sort of fatal error that then crashed my game. I think this was well worth what I spent for the journey, but it would have been nice to be able to see the ending, as well.

A fascinating setting and a unique artstyle on top of relatively simple gameplay with an effective tutorial. I highly recommend this cute-monster breeding game if you're at all interested in how to solve staffing quarters issues in a massive series of underground ruins and cavers.
