About This Game

Clockwork Game Software have taken over development of The Rebel and the game is currently being rebuilt from scratch with a new vision. The store page will be changed soon to match our product instead of the old version from the old developers.

What is the game all about though?

Well in the rebel you're playing a character called Kano. The year is 2045 and you have to deal with corporation known as Magnus who have full control over the access to natural resources.

Is the game in its finished, final state?

No. The game is finished enough to be playable but there are features that I'd like to add but were impossible for me at the moment. Such as: multiplayer. Multiplayer will require dedicated server which costs money so if the game doesn't end in total failure and I get at least enough to buy some beer, I'd also pay for multiplayer servers in the upcoming months. I've been also considering adding Russian or French as an language and improving the graphics and the gameplay - all that will happen through the months for as long as the game promises to have some future.

Have fun :)

I really don't even know what to say. It has to be one of the worst Early Access games in recent memory. Pros - There literally isn't a single thing that is good about it. Cons - Everything from Sound Design to assets to Shadow Clipping to Transparent AI Enemies. It's All Terrible. First Impressions Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rsf_w4U7lY4

The worst game to hit Steam Early Access since Earth 2066. Don't expect much in terms of further development, I'll let the developer himself explain his position on this game: "I just want to get rid off this sh**y game, don’t want to turn this into a never ending slavery to a project I don’t even enjoy working on. I want it to end." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouikdvB-6uM&feature=youtu.be

There are some games, which are so bad, they are good again. This is no such game. It's worse. First of all, you'll get that introduction video. At this moment I thought: "Hey, at least it has a good story. Maybe this isn't that bad". I was so wrong. Then comes the main menu and the loading screen. You can take a little walk outside meantime. Or a long hike. After a few hours of waiting, I had enough, and asked the Steam Support for refund. I tried again later on another computer, and voila, the game actually loads. In the first level, you spawn in a forest. A giant dinosaur is running after you. Don't ask me why. There is nothing to do, you can shoot at it, but nothing will happen. Second level. You're inside some sort of building, this time with human (?) enemies. Which are by the way transparent. You can try to shoot at them, but the game is lagging so bad, you can't really aim. Or move. Or whatever. Third level. You're on a street with some buildings. And as in the first level, yo...

This game falls pretty squarely into the "So Bad it's Good" category of games. The animations are insane and often non-existent, your shadow is a floating pair of arms with pants, you fight T-Rexes and robots in the same level, often at the same time, enemies are literally transparent, the sound effects cut out at random, and yet, I really enjoyed playing through it. It's absolutely bonkers, and if you're someone who enjoys watching bad sci-fi movies with friends, get a friend or two and play through this together, it's quite an experience. I definitely got eight bucks worth of enjoyment out of it. It definitely needs one or two graphics updates, the glitchy shadows, non-existent border between land and water, and blinding reflections are less endearing then the other things I've mentioned.

a game so great that you can jump out of a space station by clipping through the ceiling. after you do that, you can explore the vast expanse of space by.. falling forever.

Bought this game yesterday only because I've read it carefully on Steam about how this bad is compared to games like Guise Of The Wolf, which I myself consider as worst of all times (read my review about GOTW if you want to know a bit why it's extremely bad). So, this game is called The Rebel, where the plot is about one last hope is an agent searching after Magnus, which nearly destroying earth, i.e. the third war. To be honest, that might be the only interesting thing about this game. Oh wait, you just know the main plot but not details, which gave this game a huge con as introduction. There are three levels to play after installing, about 4-5 GB HDD space? First feeling I got about it, was, well, limited levels why? But then I thought it might provide a decent gameplay when starting one of the levels. Believe me, it didn't give me any good impression at all, the loading screen was misplaced at hell and it loaded extremely slowly in maybe 45 seconds. First level is located in a fo...
