About This Game

Who knows when the desire first beguiled young Fiona Lightspyre; lesser known is even why she harbored the urge? In the quaint village of Lillybrook, burrowed within the southeastern corner of the Forest Realm of the Aerith, the Brackenbrook river flows. Other than its length, it is neither remarkable in breadth nor flow. Yet despite this, Fiona always cherished the desire to one day follow it up north to espy its source and witness where such a stream might originate.

At the age of seventeen, like it does to most young Akita such as herself, the Song of the Wild trumpets her name. No tragedy or impending doom catalyses her desire to roam and as such, it is a grand yet delightfully light-hearted adventure that awaits our doe-eyed heroine in those untamed and unbridled wilds. Join Fiona and discover the thrill of such a voyage as you make acquaintances, forge friendships and venture headlong into lands largely unknown to you both.

. Lengthy 6+ hours campaign; longer if you examine the environment, exhaust dialogue options and read lorebooks.

. No combat, no gameovers, no stress.

. Engage in various puzzles.

. Meet and befriend a colourful cast of characters from varying races as you travel north.

. It boasts a charming artstyle, vivid with colours. It's cute, easy-on-the-eyes but sharp as an Astralite blade @ 1080p w/ 60fps.

. The maps are painstakingly detailed and immaculately drawn; all unique and brimming with awe.

. A lighting system to create pitch-dark caverns, mines and nighttimes. Take care of that lantern!

. Steam trading cards are available, featuring adorable chibi-art renders of game's characters.

. A further array of badges, backgrounds and adorable emotes are up for collection!

. There is full support for a variety of control inputs such as M&KB, gamepads and even touch-screen.

Life within The World and the Kingdom of Faria is good. There are no such things as brigands, political corruption, racial segregation, poverty or even kin-slaying; The World is a happy place and the aim of the game is to put a smile on the player's face. With a healthy dose of humour to accompany its adventurous antics, the game should prove for a heart-warming journey.

That being said, the freepeoples aren't entirely safe. Fell beasts are known to prowl and lurk within the lesser-tread lands but despite this, no great harm is set to befall The World; there are no world-saving deeds to be performed! This is an intimate tale free from the shackles of typical RPG cliches. Serving as an introduction to The World, this game will set the stage for FARIA to weave further tales and to ultimately build up a nice little fiction where players can always come to if they're in need of a mood-booster.

While I haven't finished the game, I have played for almost 40 minutes, which was more than enough for me to decide that; no, I do not recommend this game. Edit: I went back to the game and played for another hour. Everything you see until the * is what I wrote for the first 40 minutes, and everything after that is what I wrote for the next hour of gameplay time. Going into Faria, the first thing that instantly puts me off is the graphics. While the game uses several assets that look good on their own, these do not go together. The characters are generated from MV's character generator, and look REALLY out of place compared to everything else that's pixellated. There are a lot of cut-offs in maps, and the maps are usually not really fun to explore. While the maps start out fine at first, they eventually turn into empty meadows of grass, flowers and trees real quick. The cliff tiles are used really weirdly, and sometimes do not make sense. The game has some pretty well written and a...

This is not a review that calls the game really bad. In fact, it has a nice mood, I like the "dialogues" if you could call them something like that, the humour etc. But, I probably won't play the game anymore. Why? It takes too much time to let things happen: Some small spoilers ahead!!! There you are wandering through nature, screen after screen, nothing happening - no interaction, nothing -, the artwork nice but nothing special. Is the intention to show you, that you have to be patient? Perhaps. Then you find a fireplace. You now have to search for firewood. But, you gotta be kidding me, there's lots and lots of it and you have to go back many screens. Then gladly something a little bit more fun happens. After that you are back at the fireplace and have to be patient again, while nothing really is happening. OK: While I played, I thought about my life and hobbies. I work. In my work, I have lots of situations where I have to be patient. Then I love to paint, there patience is ...

Liked: -Very good story -MUCH longer than I expected at first -Well-written characters -Unique lore and good world-building I haven't finished this game yet, but so far I really like it! Unlike more traditional J:RPGs, there's no battling system; this might be disappointing to some people, but I for one find it refreshing to walk through a cave without finding a slime or spider every 5 seconds. The only gameplay is walking through various terrains, solving puzzles, and collecting items. I was a bit iffy on this part at first, but after Skye showed up the game got a lot more interesting story-wise. The overall story of this game definitely makes up for the lack of gameplay. As a writer myself, I have to say the world-building and lore is phenomenal; I wanted to learn more about the world these characters lived in, and I still do even after over 5 hours of playing. This game is very dialogue-heavy, making it a lot more like watching an anime than playing a video game. Those looki...

So idk how to reach out to the Dev...so I'll just leave this comment here and HOPEFULLY it reaches out to him or someone. Put a combat system into the game. Has anyone ever played Isaac and the golden sun? somethin' along those lines. I think this game would get popular.
