No-brainer for this price. Graphics and sounds works with this type of game, mouse control took a couple of tries to get a hang of it but after that it's all smooth. Quality cartoon art carrying the storyline is nice addition. Settings are surprisingly comprehensive and there is even an option to select which monitor to use. Very nice if you have a TV attached to the computer and playing on a couch with controller. The game is not so easy that you could just shoot at everything brainlessly, but you actually have to plan your moves at least until some point. It offers fast and easy fun, the first missions takes a couple of minutes but after that the missions gets tougher and last longer. Impressive first product from the team, highly recommended!

A great buy all-around. Mouse controls are simple and fun to use. You have to plan your actions most of times, can't just run n' gun through the game. That'll get your squad finished off in no time. Levels are not at all repetitive, it feels like I'm going somewhere, not just grinding the same corners over and over again. There's some definite challenge especially in bossfights. It took me fair amount of time to figure out the first boss. Shrapnel and bodyparts flying everywhere.. it was hell I tell you!! Everything was going fine and dandy before that moment.. I lost many good men that day. Haven't finished the game yet but felt the need to give these guys my thanks and support. I'm really digging the soudtrack also!
This is an honestly good game. I think I'm about halfway through, and although it's simple, it has been fun and rewarding with each mission complete. If you use proper strategy, things will go smoothly. If your strategy is a bit messy, things can still go smoothly and it might be more exciting! There are definitely some "puzzle" elements sometimes. It could use some AI for the enemies, so when they are under attack they don't just walk predictably into your line of fire. Other than that, it has been a fun experience and I intend on finishing! As you collect "intel" you get to see parts of the backstory and lore in graphic novel form, which is nice...I just am having trouble determining which order they go in! Overall, definitely worth purchasing and supporting this developer! I hope to see new mission packs in the future perhaps.
Party like it's 1993! :) Fans of Cannon Fodder find things familiar pretty soon and that's a good thing. One thing to wish for: bit more variety in music.. Fun little action game.
Do not buy this game if you have an ultra-wide monitor (mine is 3440x1440). At startup you'll be able to create a profile, but the start button will be off-screen so you will not be able to start a game. And as far as I can tell there is no way to get to any options menu to change the resolution.
35 levels levels ranging from 2 minutes to 10-12 minutes to complete. I prefered using a controller even though the game mentions at the start that it is designed for a mouse. A good little game when picked up on sale
The game feels very basic and simplisitc, not skills up, proper levelling, to few of anything to make it more than a passing curio for for an evening break.
This is a fun action shooting game, The game only takes the mouse for control.
TL:DR: A solid top-down shooter; fun but not without flaws. IMO, this is one of those games that make me wish Steam had a neutral recommendation between thumbs-up and thumbs-down. I generally enjoy top-down shooters and Action Legion is no exception but there are some things about it that could use some work. There are a lot of positive aspects to this game, making it a pretty solid entry in the top-down shooter genre. I'm not going to go into detail here as others have already covered this more thoroughly than I would. However, I would like to cover the elements of the game that I believe could be improved. To me, the biggest flaw in Action Legion is the control scheme. At first, I tried the recommended mouse-only controls, which I found to be an interesting and unique approach, but felt that it was making the game unnecessarily difficult. I then switched to the mouse-and-keyboard control scheme, which was definitely an improvement. However, movement and aiming felt re...
Kinda like Cannon Fodder, but I can't really say this is as fun. Still, Cannon Fodder was unique enough game that hasn't had much mimickers. Anyone wanting something kind of like it would perhaps enjoy this for a few moments... maybe. But I can't honestly recommend it. Not saying Action Legion is bad, but I have very ehhhh mediocre opinion of it. The price is appropriate for its quality I suppose.
