About This Game
Sister Hedwig is having a bad time.
It wasn't long ago that the Mother Superior dragged her out of her cell, forcing Hedwig to break her oath to God as an Anchoress and face the outside world. Acting as a spy for the leader of Linbarrow Abbey, Hedwig was given one seemingly simple task: Discover who really murdered Sister Catherine.
Hedwig has tried her best, but she is no closer to solving the mystery. Things just keep getting more and more complicated: Why can't any of the Sisters give her a straight answer about what happened the night of the murder? Who--or what--is the mysterious figure that haunts the abbey? And just who was Sister Catherine?
In White Wool & Snow, Sister Hedwig must steel herself. Time is running out, and so is sympathy for her situation. It's understandable that being thrust into the waking world after a life of quiet reflection as an anchoress would require some adjustment, but if Hedwig wants to save an innocent man she will have to get serious fast. Can she navigate increasingly difficult social situations, maintain her cover, and make the progress the Superior demands?
White Wool & Snow is a kinetic visual novel.

A fantastic second act. Everything is more intense, answers lead to more questions, and by the end everything is careening towards an ending. I can't predict the murder mystery, but I'm very excited to see its conclusion in Volume 3. The cast and writing continues to be incredibly charming and interesting. As the tension wound up I began to get nervous whenever characters were off-screen for too long. Each of them have such a distinct presence, voice, and web of relationships with the other cast members and it is so fun to watch any combination of them interact. Sure hope none of them die!!!! I especially liked the mother superior whose flaws are made more apparent with each meeting between her and Hedwig. Hedwig's narration and POV are also a highlight. Her beliefs, flaws, and observations are often funny or deeply sad. She is probably my favorite sister out of the very strong cast. The cliffhanger at the end? So good. I had been hoping for something like that since the start of ...
Continuing right off the heels of Volume 1, you should obviously read that before starting this. It is still a straightforward visual novel, so no choices or alternate endings. Trying to keep this spoiler free is hard, there's a lot that goes on! The art and UI gets a bit of an upgrade along with plenty more music. Hedwig's inner conflicts reach several boiling points across the story as she has to weave more and more lies around each other, and she can no longer even pretend to stomach being around the only people she thought could be friends. It is satisfying in an unsettling way how Hedwig starts to become much more confident; in several things that one should not be confident in. You start to clearly see how she becomes the emotionally distant yet manic "present" version of herself telling the story to whoever is interviewing her. As we finally get to know a lot more about the origins of the Sisters, they get rounded out much better and become a lot more complex with their behav...
fantastic VN to feel conflicted to
Volume 2 is a compelling sequel to the confusion that was the murder mystery in Volume 1. I find myself as a player really relating to Hedwig's unreliable narration as I the player was kept on edge from the demons and eyes that I kept seeing. I really liked our descent into madness or maybe a cruel adaptation to our new reality. I have more theories and more clues. I'm excited to see the next chapter. :)
Finishing Misericorde V1: Okay, you got me. This is an engaging mystery VN with interesting characters, I'm invested in seeing this story too even if I have no idea what's going on in the epilogue. Finishing Misericorde V2: WHAT? WHAT? HUH? I NEED ANSWERS!
Love it, can't wait for volume 3. Also please release the vol 2 ost.
