Early access, so obviously things could go uphill or downhill from here, but definitely looks promising. The nature of VNs already has a little bit of time loop built into it, from a meta perspective, so it's really drilling down to fundamentals to see that made an explicit point. Only real complaint is that it's lacking some QoL for those who want to hunt down every route-like having achievements behind points of no return, such that missing them requires you to start from scratch, and that there isn't a comparatively standard 'speed through all dialogue until a choice selection', though the checkpoint system it uses is pretty hefty. However, they've already said their working on the second in a coming patch, and that would at least make dealing with the former less tedious, so things are looking up.

About This Game
On the quiet, cold morning of October 26, 2016, exactly at 5:00 A.M., many things happened all at once.
A bloody ritual was concluded.
A young man lost his memory.
A small creature, named Dark Wisp, was born in the vastness of the Void.
The rooftops of Red Hives welcomed the light of a new day.
The last day of the world.
The Demons Told Me to Make This Game is a Time Loop game and a cosmic horror narrative adventure about demons, monsters, evil cults, bloody rituals, and Elder Gods.
You play as Dark Wisp, a disembodied spirit who is unable to interact with the physical world directly, but instead can possess people and speak into their ears, influencing their behavior.
Your hosts have agency and will keep trying to act on their own accord, but you mustn't let them do that. They're dumbasses, and without your help they will imminently perish. Fortunately, you have control over the flow of time, so you can undo their stupidity whenever you want.
Make choices. Experiment. Explore different timelines. Learn what you need and help your hosts survive. After all, they're the ones destined to save the world.

To complete TDTMTMTG, you will have to solve a series of Time Loops.
Loops are broken down into Time Slots to help you experiment with their interconnected events. In each Time Slot, you will possess one host, leaving the rest to their own devices, free to make their impressively bad decisions.
Keeping your hosts alive won't be easy. To weave a timeline of their survival, you will need to see the events from different perspectives and rely on numerous, often cruel experiments. You will make your hosts do despicable things, and you will watch them die, over and over again, gaining knowledge and wisdom with each instance.
Once you have crafted the perfect sequence of events, the loop is completed, and the story moves forward.
Flawed as they are, your hosts are thinking people. You don't have direct control over what they do or say.
Each host has a unique, strong personality. Making them do what needs to be done will require finesse and patience, as well as complete disregard for their well-being.
Be their best friend. Be their worst bully. Cheer for them. Mock them. Take advantage of their deepest fears and anxieties. The hosts may not always listen, but they will always hear you. And even if reasoning with them fails, you can always play a mini-game to hijack their brains.
To solve the time loop, you will have to make your hosts do terrible things that go against their very nature.
Red Hives may look like a small, dying town where nothing ever happens, but don't let the looks deceive you. The history of this place is riddled with terrible tragedies and things way worse than demons lurk in its shadows.
The only ones standing against the darkness are a ragged crew of exorcists. Brave but hopelessly unprepared for what they face. Fortunately, they have you. As you guide them, bending wills and shaping fates, one question lingers: whose side are you really on?

The demons told me to play this game, and I think you should give it a try, too. Feels like a masterpiece from the very start. Wow!
I’ve been hyped for this game ever since I first saw it on TikTok, and it did not disappoint. It’s funny, bloody, and just pure fun. Can’t wait to play the next chapters after they come out
OH GOD SAVE THE CAT,POOR THING
This game is clearly heavily inspired by Disco Elysium, but it succeeds in being its own game. The game gives you a satisfying amount of choices (all with consequences) so there's high replay value, and the game rewards you for replaying by opening more choices for different outcomes. The game also, interestingly enough, rewards failure. Some choices will require you to pass a skill check, and unlike Disco Elysium, where the skill check is kind of random, here it's more a test of reflexes and coordination. I'll admit I can be a bit slow, so it's so nice that the game doesn't just mark this down as a "failure" leaving you to try again later, but actually uses this failure to reveal something about a character, and the game itself tells you explicitly that you should enter challenges, specifically to fail them to see what new paths or traits are opened up. The tone of this game is also pitch perfect. It's simultaneously surreal, wry, and sweet. The art style is great, The music is ...
Really great game it has a lot of funny moments that don’t feel forced and the deaths are all unique
I very much enjoyed this game after playing Disco Elysium. The time loop concept is done well, it's enjoyable rather than tedious. I enjoyed the writing, the music and the art. You can see the inspirations but the game is very much it's own game.
Amazing game. The story gets you hooked immediately and the dialogue options can be super hilarious. The OST is fantastic, super excited to play the rest of the Loops
ngl i dont normally review games on steam but i just listened to a
zombie punk band singing about lovecraft's inappropriately named cat
and i felt like i had to say something. game of the year. (jokes aside this might genuinely be the game of the year to ME. it's disco elysium meets supernatural meets eldritch monstrosities and a lot of other stuff. the mechanics are really well done, the story is extremely engaging and had me sitting there playing it for hours because i didn't want to put it down. and also it's funny. i need everyone to buy and play and tell your friends because i'm desperate for the devs to finish it. in the words of the jar of bees: YES. YES. YES. YES.)
Wow i absolutely love it. The choices you make can be so bizzare. I cannot wait for the next update ♥
