About This Game

Climb, Plummet, Repeat.

Are you sure you're up to the challenge?

What is this game about?

Try Not To Plummet is a tough as nails platformer inspired by the likes of Getting Over it by Bennett Foddy and similar games in the "foddian" genre. It is designed to be as unforgiving as possible, with multiple obstacles and pitfalls created to test the wills of even the most seasoned of hardcore gamers.

Armed only with determination, a jetpack and a dream of returning home, you must muster the courage and perseverance to climb the treacherous cliffs of Mt. Cadere. Using what little fuel you have left in sparing bursts to conquer the mountain and return home.

Features List!

The game will include the following features at launch:

  • Base Game: Climb your way up Mt. Cadere, return home and conquer the mountain!

  • Custom Level Editor: Create your own levels to challenge yourself!

  • Custom Level Exporter/Importer: Export and Import your custom made levels to challenge your friends!

  • Challenge Modes: Play through the base game with special modifiers included! Including a hardcore game mode!

The gameplay is really fun, but the map design isn't there. In most foddian game, you can recover, or the fall always happen differently but in this game, the fall are designed to be the same each time, while also being punishing. If you fail during a section, you'll always end up where the dev want you to, no matter where you fail during that section. I missed at 63% ended up at 25% missed at 82% also ended up at 25% it's just not fun having the same fall no matter where you fail in that section. There are also multiple blind jump which are really annoying the first time you do them.

Love the unique style of this game, it's wonderful to be able to support a small creator. The game is quite challenging which makes it fun and enjoyable. A simple premise but uniquely portrayed with plenty of unique quirks and easter eggs. Would definitely recommend anyone to give this a go.
