About This Game

When Ed accepted the challenge of surviving exactly 20 days and 20 nights in The Demonic Conveyor Belt (D.C.B), he thought his Elite Mastery Professor had been exaggerating that it was 'the most feared dungeon of all'. This thought quickly disappeared into the fog surrounding him, when he passed through the gates of the dungeon to find the largest eyeball he'd ever seen. Would he forever remain just Ed, or could he become Talent Ed?

Talented is an arcade roguelite shoot 'em up with randomly generated skill trees. Survive 20 nights and defeat the dungeon to unlock all six classes, each with unlockable talents, abilities and challenges.

Send a hail of arrows, conjure powerful spells, brew unique potions, or call upon an army of snails to hold back the demons. The possibilities are endless.

  • Craft your own builds, with over 500 Talents to learn

  • Obliterate your foes, with over 100 abilities

  • Explore a new talent tree every run with randomly generated skill trees

  • Go Endless and push your builds to their limit

  • Master six classes, each with its own playstyle

  • Customise your character's loadout with class specific traits and skins

  • Challenge yourself, with 25 mastery levels

  • Explore new ways to play, with 10 challenges per class

Consider this as neutral review. You MAY like the game, but it is rather simplistic and with an odd pacing. I would say that I like the idea of skill trees. It is really good, but gameplay loop itself is not very satisfying. You either dominate, or crushed. I breezed with 1st run of archer and it does not grab me enough to try anything else since instead of constant waves and non-stop progression you get it in increments(you only spend talents when you finish wave and mobs also get stronger each wave). With autoaim skill on archer game really shinnes - you can solely focus on upgrades and forget about dumb arrows, but again pacing is broken, contious waves and sidebar for upgrades would be better. Tree anyhow is not big enough to warrant a pause. And visuals... well, I'd prefer different ones. Especially exp points flying towards you feel like projectlies. Why even do this when you cannot get lvlup midterm, just show counter, that's it. Some mobs annd candy are too similar in colors a...

So, take it with a grain of salt, since I'm drunk as hell after a pretty grueling day at work. HOWEVER, I just did a challenge (for those uninformed, a special modified run) for the ninja. You had to navigate the talent tree (Talented, amirite?!) to get to the end goal. In it, you had to balance out small math problems of even or odd, cross reference the randomly generated map for location information, and balance out level ups granted by the skills in the map. A very inventive and creative way to change how the game was. Granted, it was only for that one challenge, but a lot of the other challenges provide odd ways to shake up the game! Long story short, I like four lanes, and I like talent trees. If you do to, then this is the game for you!

Quite a fun little game, not too complex to grasp but a lot of exploring to do with the skills and combos. Very satisfying, and a good difficulty curve.

Felt too grindy, not really replayable either. not compelled to play more.

Talented is a wild little time waster in the best way. Runs can end super fast thanks to the pure RNG of the random skill pool, but that’s also what keeps me coming back. When the skill tree flows perfectly into a build, it feels amazing—those are the best runs by far. Of course, the flip side is that the same randomness that makes a run overpowered can just as easily turn it into trash in an instant. It’s brutal, and sometimes frustrating, but that gamble is kind of the fun. I’ve put in about 20 hours so far, and I keep wanting to see if the next skill tree will finally break wide open. The graphics are simple, but don’t let that fool you—runs can get wild really quickly. If you like games where RNG is king and you’re always chasing “just one more run,” this one’s worth it.

I'm far more pleased with Talented than I thought I'd be. A simple concept, fantastic execution, and solid build variety manage to produce an immensely smooth and satisfying ride. ...and I must admit I'm utterly charmed by the game's name, so there's that, too.
