Thanks to Iron Pineapple on Youtube for cluing me into this hidden gem. Fun, simple, and fairly short. I actually got each tower to the 5000n limit just for the fun of it. Wish there had been something special for going that extra mile, but not a big deal. Completing the tower in the last area was a good challenge. Gameplay is simple enough, but can be a decent little challenge regarding placement of Burggeist, your choice of which skills you have equipped and awareness of enemy spawn changes. The damage of certain skills increasing with height or distance is a cool and fairly unique mechanic I really don't see in other games, particularly not as a main combat mechanic. You could most definitely finish the story in likely 8-10 hours, but I wanted to find most everything and as I said I grew every tower to 5000n, which is not necessary. Story has that very weird, surreal feeling you get from games like ICO and Xeno Clash. A very strange world that has a lot of deeper lore it teases a...

Weird melancholic vibe, world building is perfectly balanced in terms of minutiae and concepts. Character quests never overstay their welcome and often add to the world Fun traversal abilities (go back to Fort Orifice and buy Flame Torus) which feed into the main combat spells well I didn't even like the tower defence mechanic but would still recommend it, I turned the difficulty to easy because I got drunk and really wanted to see the ending

A great game in an unexpected genre pairing. big open world, with deep lore that you mostly have to piece together yourself and I find the main mechanics to be quite fun. This game definitely deserves more attention

Love the art style, ps2 graphics, setting, characters and designs, powers/abilities, enemy designs, maaan, this game's whole aesthetic and world scratches my itch! I see it as "Shadow of the Colossus but tower defense". You ain't climbing giant monsters but the open world design, exploration for abilities and equipment, and overall vibe gives off SotC while the combat is a real-time tower defense with you and your giant monster assistance focused on keeping high ground advantage and movement. It's great! Your abilities are varied and keep you engage in exploring new ways to defend your tower. I highly recommend this game!

Hidden gem that is an overwhelmingly charming combination of janky, retro, and fun. I cannot recommend this game enough, it is criminally under priced and only takes an hour or two to show how special a game it is.
