Story Plot
At the beginning of the year 2222, a revolutionary technological device proved the existence of a soul which solidified proof of a higher power. The year is now 2973. The vast majority of humanity has been tank-bred over the past centuries due to a highly contagious otherworldly virus that permanently altered reproductive genomes and therefore effectively sterilized most of humanity. A dire consequence of this artificial breeding is that those who are tank-bred are soulless. You are Matthew, one of the soulless, an experimental tank-bred super soldier part of the royal regime task force division. You are sent on your lonesome to investigate a distress signal from a research facility located in Poseidon, a water-rich planet found in "The Black-Eye Galaxy". Luna, who is the Royal Protector of Mars, and her team were sent days before to investigate but communication with them has been lost. This is where your adventure begins.

Sophonce surprised me in the best way possible. For an Early Access title, it runs incredibly smooth, which already sets it apart from a lot of other EA games that feel more like tech demos. The story grabbed me right away—it’s mysterious, layered, and the fact that my decisions actually matter gives it real replay value. The combat feels great too. The weapons have weight, the abilities add variety, and pulling off telekinetic mayhem never gets old. Reflex mode (slow-mo) makes every encounter feel cinematic, and it’s hard not to spam it just to feel like a sci-fi action hero. What I really appreciate is that Sophonce feels ambitious but not half-baked. You can tell there’s a long road ahead in development, but what’s here already feels polished and fun. If this is only Chapter 1, I can’t wait to see how wild things get later. Also, shoutout to the dev—one person making something this smooth and engaging is pretty insane. If he keeps this up, we might have the next cul...
The graphics are really good and the game runs very smoothly for something in early access!
Nothing but good things to say so far. Sophonce takes the Hero Shooter approach and definitely brings it, making each checkpoint seem like an accomplishment. Magnificent graphics, solid controls and simple, yet challenging, game-play has got me hooked; can't wait to see where it all goes.. Updates have been small, but frequent, and are definitely noticeable in-game. I think we have a winner here, we all just need to be patient and let this develop. This one was worth the wait.
The game has a chance but you have to fix the scaling of shooters better they spawn way too much and with a mix of higher power guns then ones we have. Plus the flying things are a pain since the some bullets seem dont work at all. I would scale the battles better so feels fair. Once fix that i think this game can be great, i wont refund ill hold off for updates.
Very surprised by this game. Was a bit wary with the low price, number of reviews, and never having heard of the game/dev. But I decided to give it a chance and am really impressed, especially considering it was made by a single developer. The game play is very polished and I experienced no bugs. The game was a bit difficult at first but becomes more reasonable as you become accustomed to the controls and environment. I also was able to complete the whole game (prologue and 1st chapter) in vr using uevr. Everything worked great with a few small tweaks except zoom did not seem to work (at no fault to the dev as it was not designed for vr). Overall, very impressed and excited to see the upcoming chapters as well as anything else from this dev...
cons: its too difficult at the moment, im not saying this as a 180 year old gamer who just trying to relax damit. ive played many games with a difficult reputation, from all soulsborne games to all stalker games, i can do difficult, this is too much tho. the combat system seems underbaked, due to enemys locking onto you with no real way to avoid damadge and just fireing periodically. every encounter is an arena with you being boxed in arenas with nothing interesting really to interact with. enemies enter through an impenetrable starwars darth maul like gate which makes the lockon more frustrating. the item pickups arent visually clear. the shield power not only didnt trigger for me when i replayed that section, they feel unbalanced as do the guns, with non of them being satisfying or strong enough to make the encounters fair in any way. the difficulty slider may just be broken since ive played on every difficulty exept hard and i didnt notice a diffrence, the first difficulty i selecte...
I had bad framerate on the Steam Deck but the game still felt good to me. Minor issues are in the settings themselves some of them won't change. https://youtu.be/pQ4a6QL4Djk?si=TcCSGLAyXFrJGt8i
Visually the game is very satisfying. I played it on normal difficulty and was very challenging, possibly start on easy mode to get a feel for the game. The game play movement graphics could improve as it is choppy on my computer. It has great potential for an early access sci-fi shooter.
Absolutely dope game, I loved the play and feel of this game. Super excited for chapter 2!
