Escape Yourself

This game has too many issues to recommend. Intentional pixel hunting. A maze that doesn't make sense (even while watching a walkthrough). A select-the-right-part picture puzzle that's almost impossible. Not able to pick up objects when you first find them. Ton of backtracking for a time puzzle. Etc. Basically the effort/reward ratio is messed up. It's designed to be hard, not *fun*

I so not enjoyed this adventure game. First, there a huge amout of dialogs, that can't be skipped. Second, items you need to advanced in this game, only comes available after certain very linear sequences of actions. like why can't you pick up the empty spray and the spray-can at the same time out of the suitcase, if you need this for the same puzzle solution? But the absolute dealbreaker is the big spider scene, in which you die if you like me not clicking fast enough to escape and ends the game!!! Really, why can't I skip this scene to continue the game. Yes you may start a save game over and and over again, but you still have to go through the very lengthy dialog with the little girl and yes, in my case die again. Really, why can't I skip this part of this game so at least player can continue the game?

Escape Yourself is not for everyone. If you're looking for a frustration-free and polished game, look elsewhere. You can tell one person made it, and it's their first game. However, the story is deep and enthralling, and the puzzles will challenge you. The game will make you think and sometimes unintentionally due to spelling errors and poor interface. The story takes place on a train. Usually, it's nine cars per level, and while there is backtracking, it's only nine screens. After you complete a level, you unravel more of the story and move on. It's not always clear what you need to do and if certain objects matter to progress. The game needs a hot spot indicator as pixel hunting intensifies in certain areas. Completing it could take up to at least ten hours, depending on how much you struggle and your achievement hunting. Keep in mind some achievements are broken. I know I don't paint a pretty picture, and I was frustrated several times, and Danny isn't the most sympathetic charac...

I never finished this one, but had several hours of fun. It seems that the dev is a fan of the series "Dark" or maybe those posters were random Easter eggs. Cool nonetheless.
