The idea of the game is very promising, the idea of being in the shoes of a palliative nurse making important decisions that would influence the game really appeals to me. However, I am assuming that this game is made by a single developer or a small team, because the story is extremely short. There is little decision making involved that properly influences the game and the total run time is about 1 hour, basically making the game an interactive short story. The game at points feels unfinished due to odd bits of untranslated dialogue and the introduction of characters and mechanics that are barely used in the short gameplay. Who is Jean? We never get a patient file on him or any information other than a singular introduction between the characters towards the end. I was left feeling disappointed at how quickly the game to an end, especially after promising so much, with the tutorial hinting at needing to write notes down about patient files and needing to make quick decisions that wou...

She is counting on you to build healthy and lasting relationships with her team.
Accompany people with rich and touching stories until their last breath.

Multiples choices
Zoe is living an exceptional experience. Confronted with unusual situations, she will have to make choices that are sometimes also out of the ordinary. They will influence the course of the story, but also her relationships with the different protagonists of the adventure : Eliott, her companion, Elisabeth, the head of the department, Mr. Lorius the public figure, and many others.
Game Experience
Until The End was written with the support of a nurse who has worked in palliative care. It's an experience as close to the real thing as you can get.
You don't need any medical knowledge to fully experience the adventure.
Until The End is not a Serious Game, the realism of the situations is sprinkled with a touch of esoteric fantasy and sometimes absurd and funny situations.
Be Prepared
If you think of hospice palliative care as the last stage of life, a dull, sad place from which all notions of joy have escaped, take heart. It is above all a place where life takes its most beautiful impulses, where teams experience strong and sincere emotions.
Until The End is not a dark game, it is often joyful. You can count on Zoe to brighten up the emotional moments

User Reviews
I'm only two days in (IG) and I absolutely love this game. The patients are endearing and have their own specificities, without falling into the crude cliché. We learn the basics of how palliative care works, but the game does not overwhelm us with information. I already have my favourites! i'll edit this comment when I'll be finished with the game.
really nice stuff
For context, I was medically deployed in hospice care during COVID-19. The events of this game are strikingly similar to my own to an extent. Everyone's experiences are certainly different, but there is an idea - the idea that these people, these stories and relationships cut short are all something worth writing about and exploring. For that, I want to commend this game for approaching something that I really haven't seen in the context of video games before. Really awesome approach. I want to speak earnestly when I suggest that this was poorly delivered. The idea of a nurse moving from patient to patient and working with these people is fantastic, but without attention to authenticity and understanding the implications of not only the treatments but the emotional dynamics at play, it is a struggle to relate and be immersed with the situations being depicted. For example, the first two deaths are approached abruptly, which isn't a wrong approach at all, but the way the protagonist d...
EDIT: I have changed my review to do not recommend as it has been a decent amount of time since launch with no updates or any public statement about the future of the game. The game is very expensive for what you get. Until The End is a unique visual novel, and it provides an experience which is hard to put into words. For those who also started with the Demo first, the game is a LOT more complete, and things such as the title screen etc have been made. I appreciate how the dev sought assistance from a irl palliative care nurse when writing for the visual novel, it's is noted and appreciated as it makes the experience a lot closer to home. There is definitely a lot of repeatability to the game, as every option you make changes the course of events. I think it'd be great if achievements were added to the game, especially ones from when you reach an ending, as it isn't made clear just how many endings it is possible to get. I can appreciate the game has been out for only 8 days...
gameplay is a bit slow, alot of dialogue to click through and not a lot of things to do. more of a visual novel. alix is kind of patronizing and annoying, she pissed me off
I am interested in the point of hospice/palliative care and also games about being a mortician/autopsy but the ending i got was "psycho zoe" Witch is one i hated because i wanted to help people live a painless death and be resuscitated if needed i liked the story but it could use improvement
