About the Game
Boxville is 2-in-1: an animated film and a puzzle game.Boxville is an adventure puzzle game about speechless cans living in the city of boxes and drawing doodles on cardboards to tell the stories.
Boxville is good for playing alone to dive into the atmosphere and challenge your brain with sophisticated logic puzzles and riddles, or playing with a friend or family to share unique audio-visual experiences and solve the puzzles together.
Made in Ukraine.
Design
The core idea of the game is that it’s not just a game - but also an animated film that you can watch and play at the same time.
We designed Boxville’s gameplay with the purpose of taking away your anxiety and stress. You can explore and observe the world without rushing and pressure.
The game is full of environmental quests and logical puzzles that we have carefully picked from among hundreds of options.
Story
Boxville is a city of boxes populated with old cans. They live quiet and happy lives with their everyday routines and habits. But one day, unexplained earthquakes disturbed their idyll...
Blue Can (our hero) lost his best friend because of that. He started his search but it is not so easy to move through the city after earthquakes. He has to find a way to move forward, return the friend back home and discover the real reason for all those earthquakes. There are many adventures, new friends and it’s not only friends that are waiting for him on the way.
He has to be curious, inventive, careful, and to help others, to reach his goal.
What you can expect to see and hear in Boxville:
- Hand-drawn graphics — all backgrounds and characters are carefully drawn by our artists.
- Every animation and sound is created especially for each interaction.
- Unique music track was created for every scene to accomplish the atmosphere of the game.
- Tens of logical puzzles and mini-games are tightly incorporated into the story of the game.
- There are no words in the game — all characters communicate via cartoony speechbubbles.

User Reviews
The illustration style of this game reminded me of Machinarium, so I immediately picked it up. And I am very glad I did. The world is wonderfully imagined. The interactions with the characters and environment leave you wanting to explore even more. (Thankfully, there is a sequel. Hopefully there will be more.) The illustration and animation are so beautiful. The music fits perfectly. And the puzzles are fun. There were also multiple times that I chuckled or laughed out loud. Definitely a great game if you're looking for some smiles in these trying times.
Cute!
I don’t play games super often — usually just when I’m in the mood for something calm and cozy — but Boxville absolutely hit the spot. I grew up loving classic point-and-click adventures (think Machinarium, Monkey Island), and this gave me that same warm, nostalgic feeling with its own quirky charm. The cardboard world is lovely, the box-people are oddly expressive without saying a word, and the music is moody in a cozy kind of way — perfect for winding down after a long day. The puzzles are clever but never too frustrating. If you enjoy slow, thoughtful games with a handmade feel, or just want something gentle with a cup of tea — Boxville is totally worth it.
Very cute point & click. Love the aesthetic of cardboard houses and soda can people. The puzzles were nice, with some cool minigames to help spice things up. The music was fantastic, with some very calming songs that set the vibe of each scene perfectly.
Short game but it was pretty fun. I like puzzle games so I guess for it's price and the length of the play, its good.
good little game. fun and clever puzzles.
A calm, cozy, cute and heartwarming game! The gameplay is about solving puzzles one after another. There are only limited actions you can do and places where you can go, so the game is not too overwhelming. Another good thing is that there is no timepressure or anything scary or disturbing in the game. This is really nice and relaxing. It's important to know that the game uses autosave and there is no text in the game! This means that everything in the game (such as menu and the dialogue) is being presented through images. This style is cute, but also confusing. For example, it's crucial to know that you don't need to save your game and The Star icon in the menu meants Start a New Game. Therefore, if you have played the game and press The Star, this action wipes away your entire progress!! I enjoyed this journey very much. I'm sure that you will, too.
Super cute, short, fun point and click game to relax to. The story was beautiful, I love the art style, the puzzles are great but simple. I did accidentally restart my game as the symbols used were a little confusing, could really only make out the setting and exit symbol, so if you are in the middle of a game, don't make the same mistake as me and click something you are unsure about. I will definitely play Boxville 2
