So, the game has a lot of charm, but ultimately I feel it is immediately overshadowed by how clunky and tedious everything is in the game. No ability to change keybindings has also always been a head-scratcher for me, but I'm not a game dev, so I don't know how difficult that may be to implement. It's definitely needed, as the base controls are awful for both controller and keyboard, (this is admittedly subjective though.) Latest updates have added keybindings to help with the clunky nature of the UI and navigating menus. Tedious stuff that I found myself already annoyed by, before the end of the first stage: You can only cook one healing item at a time. Does it really make a difference if I heal to full health in one cooking cycle vs. four if I'm in the completely safe building stage? Why? You can only repair things one thing a time, and you have to hold the button down, then confirm the prompt and resources needed to repair. This super sucks, and immedia...

About This Game
The Dimensional Orb was a promise of wealth and knowledge beyond humanity's wildest dreams, hidden away from all until it was discovered and brought to the king. Being human, the king was easily tempted, and for a time the promise held true. Riches, knowledge, and incredible stories flowed into the Kingdom thanks to the Orb… but then came the monsters.
Lots and lots of monsters.
Monster Outbreak is a pixel top-down survival game. Take control of Yulia, the last surviving member of the Royal Guard, and confront the endless monster hordes spawned by the out-of-control Dimensional Orb. Gear up, prepare defenses, lay down traps, cook a possible last meal, and try to stay alive.
Go at it alone - or enlist fellow survivors, using classic local split screen or online multiplayer.

The last stand of the Royal Guard isn't over - until it's over.
Yulia has access to a broad range of weapons to be enchanted, from simple swords and axes to sophisticated bows providing elemental attacks, dealing additional damage and opening new ways of containing the endless waves of enemies.
Build up those defenses! Choose from dozens of turrets, including the bomb-javelin launcher, crossbow turret, and bomb slingshot to set up lethal defensive zones.
Keep hordes of dimensional horrors at bay with a selection of traps to deploy including spike strips, tripwire bombs, and elemental traps.

If the fort holds (big “if”), send Yulia into the fray beyond its protective shell and clash with the monster hordes.
Each wave, eventually, peters out. Use the lull in combat to fix up the base - or venture out, explore, fix bridges, and scavenge the derelict Kingdom.
Hunt down monsters for essential components to craft weapons and items to increase the chances of survival - but watch out for brutal bosses that can decide to crash your party at the worst possible moment.

Just couldn’t get into it. The controls are just too clunky.
Pros A good small base defence game easily going to be better with friends. Cons so far The UI feels rough. Feels unfinished or unpolished. Can sword thrust in many directions but cant shoot a bow in aiming direction? BAD....
Super close call. The mixed reviews are pretty accurate. All the bad: First off, you can't save in the game, and the games are super long, so I left my computer running for about 4 days straight. I haven't played for 120+ hours; I've probably played around 10, but my computer has been running it for that long. I understand why they didn't implement a save feature—it's difficult. As a programmer, I get it. It's quite buggy. Enemies get stuck, and their attack range can sometimes extend halfway across the map. This happens maybe five times in a long playthrough, requiring you to dive-bomb them. On the second map, a UI popup appears around level 20 and can't be dismissed. The towers sometimes just cost wood, which is nice but clearly a bug. I stuck with the first map to avoid this. Additionally, the hitboxes of grass and flowers were glitchy, which was frustrating. There are some goofy choices. The grinding aspect to unlock towers is excessive. You have tons of resources that can't b...
Another game spoiled by rogue-lite BS. You can mine, cut trees, cut grass, craft materials, etc. yet as soon as you leave a map and go to another one, you lose all your materials and have to start from scratch. This is hella stupid. The game could maybe have been enjoyable if you didn't have this rogue-lite BS but it just completely spoils the game and removes any fun that you possibly could have had. The fact that you have to switch between 3 different tools to harvest the different materials is also just hella irritating and it's even worse considering that there's a delay between switching so if you switch mid-battle then you're gonna get hit. You also can't move, while you have your building menu open, so it's supposed to be a game where you build traps to help you fight the waves of enemies, yet as soon as you open your trap menu, you get hit, because you're standing still... and you have a tiny, tiny amount of hp, so you can easily die in 3hits. The game also doesn't have resolut...
It's alright. The controls are definitely janky, but the core gameplay is decent. I don't really care for the default look of the character sprite, but you can change it (to a limited but okay selection of others), and that's just personal taste anyway.
Nice art! First thing I bought was the bunny outfit.
My omniscient brain tells me the game is good.
Great game to play with friends! Really enjoyed it!
The game felt unpolished. I thought after game released for a year or so, the gameplay would be good, heck no. To the dev: for god's sake, please play other game titles such as Orc Must Die and Dwerve, a lot of important features and UX design are non-exist in this game, like specific loadouts for each mission vs resource (as in, materials required to craft turret X may not exists in current mission, mission preview has no indication), combat mechanic (boss destroy all defenses that you built). TLDR; what a joke
