John Doyle sent me here and the game is fun. I love the mechanics but I believe it is too easy.

here from john doyle but i will say that the latter waves can get vary laggy
Chill game, worth the $5 in my opinion. Would be cool if the Devs added more stuff but its fine as it is. Catholic Gamer Reporting for duty
Here from John Doyle and really enjoyed it, did get a bit laggy later and crashed on wave 62
The Procedural Generation of maps and the grid-based placement system leaves a lot of room for player optimization. Your strategy may have to change depending on where trees are placed, especially since there are two tower types that generate gold based on nearby features. Having two different point systems, one for buying towers, and one for upgrading them, adds more complexity to your choices, and diminishing returns on tower upgrades means you can't buff one tower to the max and cheese the game. A good game if you have some free time and want a chill tower defense experience
John Doyle sent me here, and it is totally worth the price.
(Version R1.1) Minor visual bug with occasional flickering turrets. No visual representation of the turrets' upgrade level. (Only a text when the tower is selected.) Lacking an option to quickly exit the in-game menus; e.g. right click. UI not particularly polished. Lacking an option to rotate the camera. These are not game-breaking issues and therefore I hate to give a negative rating to this nice looking and principally coherent game. However, the game lacks one crucial feature: the joy of playing! Everybody who has ever played a Tower Defense game will beat this one on the first try. You play 35 waves on a randomly generated map and then... Well, then the game is over. The options that remain are either to continue playing in endless mode (basically letting the game run to get a coffee) or start a new game on another randomly generated map. Basically not a bad game principle, only the player is not rewarded. What the game urgently needs is a kind of progress model. E.g. levels ...
Great game. The only issue is the optimisation on higher waves. Other than that, it is an enjoyable experience.
Thank you John Doyle. Excellent sponsor.
I first heard about Sporadic Spire from John Doyle’s video back in July, but only picked it up recently. It’s a straightforward tower defense game with a neat day/night cycle that adds some strategic depth. The pixelated, Minecraft-inspired visuals and calming soundtrack give it a charming, laid-back vibe. Performance can be a bit shaky and the UI feels very basic, but considering the price, it delivers decent value. Overall, a simple yet enjoyable experience for tower defense fans on a budget.
