About the Game

Embark on a thrilling story as President Anton Rayne, steering Sordland through a pivotal time. Confront potential border conflicts, deep-seated corruption, and economic turmoil while navigating complex political dynamics in Anton's first term. As the leader, your choices will shape Sordland's destiny.

  • Gripping Story: Traverse a 1 Million+-word branching political saga packed with deep and layered conversations.

  • Choices with Impact: Make critical decisions on security, economy, welfare, and diplomacy. Your values will be tested beyond the confines of your office.

  • Your Legacy: Drive Sordland towards one of 9 unique major endings and more than 25 sub-endings. What will your legacy be?

  • Grand Cast: Engage with a diverse cast of more than 50 characters, each with unique personalities and ideologies.

  • Duty vs. Personal Values: Witness how your presidential decisions influence the country but also your family and relationships.

  • Stay Informed: Keep tabs on the state of affairs through country or interactable city tokens, policies, situations, news and reports. See the impact and result of your actions.

  • Discover the Suzerain Universe: Read about newly introduced nations, codex articles about history, and feel the pulse of the world events.

Emerging from the vestiges of a traditionalist regime and wrestling with a challenging transition to economic liberalization amidst a recession, the populace of Sordland craves democratic reform. Economic uncertainty casts a long shadow as the political landscape transmutes, with rival superpowers casting keen, watchful eyes on the unfolding scene.

Stepping into this maelstrom, you, as President Rayne, must forge effective policies alongside your Cabinet and influential figures. Balance the precarious scales of politics by retaining loyal allies, gauging your values against political necessities, and steeling yourself against potential adversaries. Remember, each character in this narrative carries unique ambitions, fueling the complexity of the political landscape.

As the drama unfolds, the delicate equilibrium between your duty to the nation and commitments to your family will be put to the test - a balancing act that challenges the essence of leadership. Can you hold the reins of presidency successfully while being a good parent?

Best of luck, President Rayne - Sordland awaits your leadership.

Tfw I tried Suzerain again after years. Several hours in I think I've done things right because all the characters tell me I got the votes I got the support, then it turns out (after reading up on it) its basically like a VN with a single correct path you gotta follow or else you're fucked. So you basically have to spend your time reading a walkthrough the entire time you play it or else you will fail

After 50 hours, my third playthrough as Rayne still fucked up. The story is truly brilliant, and I enjoyed it—even when my first Rayne was eventually overthrown in a coup. But the enjoyment faded afterward because the second attempt became long and dull. Most choices lack direct feedback, so when reforms, the economy, or anything goes wrong, you never really know what you did incorrectly. That means you have to reload again and again, and the dialogues that immersed you the first time around become more and more unbearable. Important options are buried among less meaningful ones, forcing you to constantly click the first option just to skip through them. All of this combines into a torturous cycle of failure. I really do like the story, but the game ends up being boring and offers very little positive feedback to encourage continued attempts. BTW, the DLC surprised me—the first time I played it, I actually managed to push through democratic reforms and succeed somehow. Maybe I’...

Absolutly recommended! Well written with a strong emphasis on cold war time politics but also timeless. A very strong game about making (sometimes hard) decisions and finding a way in a young and delicate democracy. Should be used in education!

It's a visual novel that commits the crime most of them do; it's boring. Your choices have an impact on the story, but while similar games keep you invested with deep characters and active gameplay, this game throws walls of poorly written script at you and expects you not to hang yourself, with little actual gameplay to speak of. If I'm gonna read a boring wikipedia article it's gonna be one about stuff that exists.

>buy suzerain >support agnolia for better trade and a close alliance >fix the economy by taking a moderate free market approach >try to ally with the reformists to pass the constitution >fail to win over judges (this is the point where everything goes downhill) >abolish the special zone >join ATO >pay reparations for the 15 day war, making peace forever between rumburg and sordland >petr resigns which others suspect as pressuring from our administration >decide to have tory as vice president instead of lucian (grave mistake) >decide to run for reelection >all old guards and sollists turn on you - members of your own cabinet leave >try to get your own party members to reconcile, but inevitably lileas has a better speech, so she's USP's presidential candidate >stay in the party >advocate for lileas >witness them attempting to rewrite the constitution again >proceed to disagree with Lileas at the end >be forced out of USP hey, atleast we didn't have any war, or economi...
