About This Game

Hazel Sky is a heartfelt adventure about a young engineer facing his destiny and his desires.

Sent to an island far from home in the flying city of Gideon, Shane must pass the trials and return as an Engineer or face banishment. Connected via radio, Shane and fellow trainee engineer, Erin strike up an illicit friendship. A friendship that will change the way Shane sees the world.

The Trials are the ultimate test that every Engineer must take before taking the honored role. For Shane, the trials are his destiny, but destiny and desire rarely align and, in a world, divided between honored engineers and reviled artists, Shane finds himself torn. Atrocious control. Underwhelming story. I reeeeeally wanted to like this game. I was looking forward to a plot twist due to what I thought were 'bad omens' they sprinkled here and there. Well, pretty much nothing happened. Despite the very bad controls, I persevered till the end of Chapter 3 (last chapter), but despite solving all puzzles, the game wouldn't let me continue to the next part. I saw a discussion about the same issue in the community hub. Yeah, by then, I was in no mood to continue. I just watched the ending (the last 5 minutes or so) on a walkthrough. Luckily, I got it at 90% off. If you must, get it when it's heavily discounted.

Interesting story, good voice acting, decently delivered puzzles, and pleasing graphics. It does suffer a bit from what appears to be a Portuguese translation, 2 or 3 awkward camera moments, and limited content depth. This game has 3 real sections, perhaps an hour each, and a tutorial area and an epilogue. Buy it on sale in the 10 to 15 range, but it's a fun Saturday afternoon play-through.
