Hindsight 20/20 - Wrath of the Raakshasa is a 3D third-person action RPG that allows you to fix your mistakes from past playthroughs and relive them for vastly different gameplay and story experiences. Your choices and actions have meaningful consequences that allow you to discover the power of your morality.
Choice in Combat
Decide the fate of two kingdoms as one-armed warrior Jehan. Will you respect the values of your former home by respecting life in all forms? Or will you meet conflict with violence? Before every battle, make the conscious decision to wield a stun rod to pacify your enemies or a sword to put them down for good.A Malleable World
The town and its inhabitants can switch between several states. You will only see a version of your world in your playthrough as both, the town and its inhabitants are affected by your choices and actions.Interesting AI and Bosses
All NPCs treat you differently based on your choices and actions. Also, bosses in Hindsight 20/20 are relatable and have nuances in their personalities. There are shades of grey in their characters as there is no longer a border between good and evil. The Experience Engine
This hand-crafted choice-based RPG is driven by a gameplay engine that creates dynamic gameplay and story experiences based on what you in the game. Every action and choice you make is observed and recorded by the Experience Engine, which then reacts accordingly to create unique playthroughs. This feedback loop of choices, actions, and reactions affects the flow of the story and drives the gameplay of Hindsight 20/20.Ten different endings
Hindsight 20/20 has 10 different endings and four of those endings have absolutely no overlap. Each ending is carefully tailored to all the choices and actions you make in your journey. And unlocking each ending grants you an achievement as well.

User Reviews
After my first play-through I feel like I can make a review. The only real decision you make in this game is who you kill and who you spare. The dialogue choices you make are going to be made based on that single choice. Although that seems kinda bland, there are a decent amount of endings with just that. I won't spoil anything about the endings however. The game-play is fun enough to want me to play it over but dialog is super bland and the cut-scenes are far too long. The plot isn't anything crazy and is easy to follow so I wish they would implement a skip cutscene or allow me to speed through dialog. Once you beat the game you have to watch it all over again and I find that annoying. The puzzles in the game are pretty simple and also slow down your progression It isn't very keyboard friendly and although I'd probably play this type of game with a controller anyway, I know a lot of people will probably be annoyed by that. Especially by the fact that it defaults to assuming you hav...
My Experience Although I don't tend to be the type of player that will replay a game to get a different ending, I was nevertheless intrigued by a game that offers choices in how you approach conversations and enemy encounters. My first impression of the game was an odd one - the first two folks I spoke to in town asked me to bust their loved ones out of police-enforced quarantine. It was suspected that these individuals had been infected with the Raakshasa virus (I suppose I'll call it). As I am familiar with some absolutely devastating viruses in our world (like Ebola) and we are currently living in a pandemic in which public health agencies have strongly recommended quarantine after exposure or infection, I wasn't really inclined to help these folks. I didn't know how contagious the virus in question is or whether it's even curable. However, I couldn't proceed in the game until completing these quests. I suppose that you're given the option not to help when you finally rea...
The combat is really clunky and not fun
Honestly pretty fun but they write very single character to try and guilt you into being a good person so it kinda gets repetative because they all have the same values
After playing through this game a few times, I feel it definitely warrants the recommendation. Overall, the game ran beautifully and the premise of going back through the other timelines gives it some good replayability. The combat took a little getting used to, but after I got the hang of it, it became quite satisfying to pop the armor off of my enemies in non-lethal mode. You get punished for blindly spamming your attack, which made learning the enemies and their spacing feel pretty rewarding. I played with KB/M and had no issues after learning the bindings.
I highly recommend this game to others. If you enjoy action RPGs, than this is the game for you. The combat mechanics are just spectacular, with interesting and unique enemies to fight! I love the ability to switch fighting between enemies by using the left analog stick on your controller! The enemies are fun to play against, although I think some are a bit infuriating like the grenadier. The animation and art style is terrific. I love the effects that your weapons and abilities make, and how beautiful the environment is. This goes for the soundtrack and sound effects. The soundtrack is amazing and fits the game perfectly. The sound effects are also super satisfying during battle. The only criticism I have of the game is the save system. Often times, when I would die from an enemy in battle, I would respawn incredibly far away from where I fought. Another thing is that, sometimes when I would complete a few arenas/battles in game, and then exit game. It would restart me from the be...
From everything that I've played so far, the story seems like it could end up being something great, and the choices you're given seem actually meaningful, but in the current form the game is in, I would not recommend getting it. The game has virtually no settings whatsoever, practically everything is based on controller play, and it took a bit to find the one and only page that actually shows the controls for playing with a keyboard which I had to look back on so many times in the little I've played because the game only actually tells you how to play with controller. I might say how I like the story, but honestly I think the actual dialogue is pretty bland. Also, the game seems to lack a lot of sound effects, espically during dialogue. Overall, I think the game could end up being something great, but right now? It's not worth your $15.
Great story, great gameplay. 100% worth the money
spent an entire day playing this game the moment it came out and it is awesome highly recommend
