Don't be deceived by its simple graphics (some scenes are beautifully hand-painted, though), Marduk's Longest Night has a lot to offer in terms of storytelling. First of all this is not a verbose adventure game, just to be clear this is not Broken Sword. Dialogs are straight to the point but never banal. The ability to condense conversation topics in few lines without sacrificing the pleasure of reading is incredible. Marduk's comments are also well-written and provide subtle clues about his mysteriuos past. I like this kind of storytelling where details are fundamental to have a complete picture. On the downside, sometimes I would have preferred these comments were more puzzle-solving oriented. Puzzles are mostly inventory-based with some pleasant variations. Surely Marduk's Longest Night isn't a genre-defining game and doesn't want to be. It's a gloomy and compelling story about a man and the consequences of his actions, where magic and demons take second place. I've really enjoyed t...

Set in the gloomy and decadent Harvester City, MLN is a classic point-and-click adventure filled with magical objects, weird creatures and references to John Carpenter's movies. Despite the humor and all the magical stuff, it's a much darker game than I thought. It's basically the story of a man who corrupted himself in order to survive and now is facing the consequences of his actions. I really loved the way Marduk's journey alternates creepy moments with others of slight melancholy. And the atmospheric soundtrack made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
I’ve just finished playing. Honestly, the game has its charm. I loved it. I know what I am talking about. I’ve played a lot indie-horror on my phone. I’m keen on this genre. Once I’ve seen this game I decided to pay for it and play. I’m not sorry for it at all. I think I have had great time, trying to listen up to any murmur at my room and solving puzzles:) Usually horror games use simple tactics as screamers and so on, but this is an exclusion. You won’t see here any screamers, but it has creepy atmosphere. Besides the plot is kinda deep. Idk why it reminds me some stories about penitence. The main character has interesting story behind and I hope I will learn more about him in next part of his adventures. What’s about paintings. I loved them. I see, they’re tasteful. Together with soundtracks they seem perfect background for such game.
The writers clearly took a lot of inspiration from John Constantine but this Marduk guy really manages to shine on his own. I also particularly liked the mood of the game. It's a rare combination of dark tone and entertainingly quirky moments. Some of the puzzles are pretty challenging. If you're a skilled adventurer then you'd get a lot of enjoyment out of them. Graphics are well drawn but contain little animation.
Wow! That’s really cool! I wasn’t expecting that the game turned out to be so gripping! It involves you immediately and doesn’t leave till the very end. To begin with, the main character, Caleb Marduk, who stained his hands with blood of many people (and not only), must rescue his daughter – the only one character whose soul is not poisoned by Sins. At least not yet. I gladly noticed that the game script pays attention to the smallest details. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration if I say that the game developers were able to create a full-fledged game universe and they’re pretty successful on this way: all the characters have their own stories and take specific place in Marduk’s journey. Nothing is casual here, and searching these connections is absorbing. Answers are not on the surface – gamers need to switch on brains and use logic to the maximum. Dialogues deserve special attention. Various, full of deep meaning and great humor! And these witty jokes! It makes the game so...
ein kleines aber gutes point & click game, besonders schön fand ich die gute Musik. a little but good point & click game, i love the music.
This is a very weak thumbs up, but I think it is worth the money for hardcore classic point and click fans that have money to burn, but realize that you aren't getting a long, winding story, you're getting a short prologue at best that seems like a vessel to sell you more DLC. Depending on your skill and enthusiasm, this could run you 1-4 hours. It took me roughly 4 hours due to partially being AFK and being puzzled at the ambiguity. If I had played in a concentrated manner, I might have reduced this to 1-2 hours. I have no illusions that this isn't any better than some of the old flash games, or some of the game you can get for free on itch.io. However, the music is decent and the story is a rip off of a lot of 80's-90's horror flicks.
An addictive story that poses interesting questions about human nature. If you like American Gods and point and click adventures this one is a must have. Looking forward to the sequel.
Very enjoyable old school point and click. The story got me and I loved the amount of dialogue you got from examining each item. It's worth the money.
A short but enjoyable adventure game with a slightly dark undertone. The world was interesting and I found myself invested.
