  • Discover secret places hidden throughout each area to find treasure and weapons.
  • Choose from 3 difficulty settings to fit your skill level or play-style.

Just a bit repetitive and not everything is documented terribly well (how you have to click to both load and then fire weapons, that you can't melee attack when you've got the bow loaded, etc.), but once you figure out the quirks and as long as you don't try to play it all in one go and get burnt out, there's a fun little game here! I especially like the creepy ambiance of the music, and the art style that's clearly retro without trying to directly ape any specific game. With a bit more polish I'd say this one could really shine, but even as-is it's worth a play if you like both dungeon crawls and OG FPSes.

Tenebrous Dungeon is an ode to an age long past. The graphics are actually quite beautiful for a game striving to pay tribute to an early 90's style. I've found the mechanics of the game just complex enough that the gameplay is engaging and fun. You could spend a day on Tenebrous Dungeon and it would be a good day.

This is a fun old school FPS that borrows Wolfenstein graphics and an Elder Scrolls inspired plot. If you missed out on some dungeon crawlers from the 90s, you'll enjoy this. Cons: This game is a tad repetitive.

Update #1: I've encountered my first boss and after that, the game throws new enemies at you. It hasn't gotten insanely complex or anything yet but you do have to be more careful as the enemies do more damage. I'll update again after I've played some more. I'm not very far into this yet but already I'm getting like a Wolfenstein 3D/Doom vibe mixed with some fantasy RPG's and Project Warlock. I'm really digging the vibe and the combat so far. It's not quite as fleshed out as some of those other games are but for the price, you really can't beat it if you're looking for something new that fits a particular look and style. I've started a video series you can check out if you want to see the game in action and decide for yourselves if it's something you might like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE3mjO8JoBE&list=PL08FwntTpxPDvqVagbAbPtYDbTCp3N7nL

if a game is repetitiv like that it needs other qualitys that is why wolfenstein was so good at its time they understood the problem thats why they gave "good" weapon sounds and overall combat feedback like death animations screams splatter and stuff like that but tenebrous has not even a good mouse movment wich kills the game instantly combined with no combat feedback at all no way its just a pain to play sry but it was or is a nice try i like the setting and the ground idea but it needs a bit more then it has right now first of all get the mouse to work better then a bit splatter and sound and we will see us in the future maby

Summary: Tenebrous Dungeon is a solid and fun old-school FPS experience that pays utmost homage to the days of Wolfenstein 3D that while tries new things, does need some refinement in places. 7/10 A full detailed video review can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7bHk1vjmec Plot: The plot to Tenebrous Dungeon like many of its kind is quite simple and basic and acts more as a basis to build the world, setting and an objective for the player more than anything. But with that said it has plenty of lore and backstory to sink your teeth into that leaves nothing untold. It is interesting, well-written and well-paced, giving something for everyone to enjoy. Gameplay: Tenebrous Dungeon attempts some new twists on the standard format, but keeps everything that is loved about the Wolfenstein 3D format at the same time. Despite some of the new ideas needing refinement, as a whole the gameplay is solid and addictive and will keep you hooked from beginning to end. Atmosphere: The...
