Myths of the World: Black Rose Collector's Edition

This game together with Vampire in Love are by far the best games of the vampire category. The Black Rose was fun and interesting to play. It follows the story of the two vampire hunters that set out to hunt Benjamin Brooks, a young man turned into a vampire by a jealous lover who didn't want to see him stand beside another woman. This jealous woman is your ultimate vampire to defeat in the primary story. In the bonus chapter, you get to battle with a vampire count that fell for her beauty, yet she didn't respond to his love. Yes, it's a triangle of love within a triangle of love coupled up with vampires and their hunters. I so wished the protagonist remained a vampire, though... Vampires! I liked it. Totally recommended.

This is a replay. I played it in 2019, and had fond memories of it, and always being a vampire fan, I wanted to check it out again. It's just as enjoyable now as it was then. The graphics are slightly dated, but not as bad as other HOPAs from the same era. The difficulty goes from easy to hair pulling. I admit this game did make me want to pull my hair out at times. But it is definitely worth checking out. I recommended it

This is a beautiful game! The animation is beautiful, and the music is so atmospheric! I like the hidden object puzzle sections, as they are clever and you can search for many objects. Story is interesting and well written, and main characters are likable and fascinating. The Making of the Game is charming and funny, and I appreciate the beautiful wallpapers and concept art available. I like the section where you can listen to the music from the game (each different song) as much as you want. I appreciate the option that lets you adjust how much of the game's music and sound effects you can hear, and the English subtitles. Voice acting is also very good. The end credits where staff mention their thoughts on vampires are really funny and great fun to watch. Thank you for creating this game!! :)

This is [I]Myths of the World[/I] #5. It's generally good and polished, but is marred by frustrating point-and-click adventure puzzles that more often than not don't make any sense. Logic will help you a little, but your best bet is just to use every item in your inventory with every item you see. You know, the boring brute force method. Otherwise, everything else is enjoyable. A spooky atmospheric story, interesting locales, and many puzzle mini-games. There aren't very many hidden-object scenes, but they are all fine.

This is one of the better HOGs. There are plenty of HOPs and regular puzzles and thankfully the voice acting and character interactions are kept to a minimum. The story adds just enough flavor to the game to be enjoyable without interfering with the main purpose of the game which is solving all those puzzles. The HOPs consist of the usual search for objects from a list as well as searching based on shape. I typically hate the shape searches in other HOGs due to their ambiguity (what am I searching for when the shape is a lumpy square?), but this game does a great job of the shapes clearly representing something. There are also a couple of new types of searches that I haven't seen in other HOGs but greatly enjoyed. The first is an association search - they show you a couple of objects and you are supposed to find an object that fits in with that set. I enjoyed it although there is still some ambiguity as to what you are searching for. The best addition to the HOGs was searching ...

Myths of the World: Black Rose Collector's Edition, is great! I loved the beautiful animation and scenery. The voice actors were very good and believable. I really love Eipix Games. The best thing; I can actually solve the puzzles in the game! Great, great game!!!!

Highly recommended! Enjoyed the vast variety of puzzles sprinkled continuously throughout. LOTS of puzzles. Some super easy puzzles, some more difficult. Also really enjoyed the riddles within the HOG scenes. Some of 'em really made you think! 4 1/2 hours playtime for the main game. Standard yet entertaining vampire fare storyline & excellent graphics. One of my favorite features is how you can choose a difficulty setting that does not give you direct hints when you click on things. This makes the game more challenging. For example, if you click on something, a normal game will say "I need to find the doorknocker for this door", but here, it will simply say "I need to find a solution" so that you don't know exactly what you need to do and must figure it out for yourself.
