This game is honestly such a gem! The music is incredibly composed, the writing is phenomenal, the puzzles are well planned and the characters are lovable. The creativity behind the story is so apparent, viewing the average games storyline from the perspective of the average joe. You’re not the hero, you’re not special. Furthermore, This game has a great deal of replayability. I have just completed my first play through, but I find myself wanting to go back and change how I handle one conversation, how I treat one npc etc. All in all I would buy this game again, and I certainly will play it again, if not for the story (which is so, so good) then for the atmosphere and the music, AHHH THE MUSIC. I may not be special, but this game surely is; 10/10.

NOTE: If you receive this error upon startup: "Your profile cannot be used because it is from a newer version of NW.js," note that you can still play the game and the error is harmless (it simply comes from you having a newer version of software that this game uses). However, if you would like to fix the error (mega annoying, right?), please follow the following steps:
On Windows 10, this would be in Users > Your User Name > App Data > Local. Find the folder labeled "nwjs" and delete it. Then, go to the folder Users > Your User Name > App Data > Local > User Data > Default and delete the two files "Web Data" and "Web Data-journal." The folder and files will be repopulated when you start the game and the error message should be gone!
On Mac, navigate to Your User Name > Library > Application Support and delete the folder labeled "nwjs." Then, go to the folder Your User Name > Library > Application Support > Default and delete the two files "Web Data" and "Web Data-journal." The folder and files will be repopulated when you start the game and the error message should be gone!
One Word, Charm
This game packs a lot of it. At every turn there seems to be a pleasant NPC interaction packed with quirky dialogue, giving it a real feel of modern life and the weirdos we may encounter. Yet, it uses those interactions to contribute to an overarching narrative of the mundane, and what is possibly a reflection of our own desire to be more than we were meant to be. Aside from an interesting environment, let's talk about that music. I love it. I'm a huge sucker for quality soundtracks and this is no exception. The music does enough to putts you along and keep your mind active, without being too in your face. After about 5 hours of exploring a quaint little world to the wonderful melodies written and performed by Lighting Nights , I'm just going to have to check back and purchase that soundtrack. Finally, yes, this is a mostly non-combat RPG, but that doesn't mean it is without meaningful interaction. Explore your environment, interact with some great ...
First of all I love this game. Secondly I leave it running while I'm not on, so my game time's gonna look like I spend my life on here and am completely obsessed. .... which wouldn't be the furthest thing from the truth honestly. The game is reminiscent of the RPGs I played as a child but charmingly self aware. I loved the character interactions, storyline, music , and the fact that that there are multiple endings. The puzzles are a great balance of manageable/ challenging. I think it has great replay value with the engrossing story and various outcomes. It's obvious the amount of thought/ effort that went into it. Would highly recommend
This game has a awesome soundtrack an interesting story and puzzles that can be hard to complete but are also fun. All the different endings add a lot to the game. This game is definitely worth buying for 12 dollars.
Honestly and to my shame: I came for the music, and stayed for the game. The puzzles are clever, and the characters sweet, the plot I enjoy, and also the read. Much love went in here, so give it a try, you won't be disappointed, as I would straight rebuy.
I really wanted to continue this game. However, despite the fact that it's mostly non-combat, I found some of the action parts too difficult. I decided to give up since they were probably only going to get worse! Some puzzles also required very exact timing if you didn't want to be squished by a rock, and there were places where it wasn't obvious what to do next. (Who on earth finds that fox without Googling it?) To be fair, most people will probably have few problems with the gameplay, but as a pregnant mother playing while completely exhausted at bedtime, I just didn't have the reflexes to grapple with it, and I certainly don't have the time to turn the game on in the early morning just to get through the next tricky bit. The story was also a bit lacklustre. The problem with these "you've lost your memory" games is that your character has no personality or backstory and has no idea what's going on, which never makes for a strong plot hook. The protagonist is chasing a random ...
The score, the writing, the premise - you've never encountered anything like it. From the mind of Reky Studios, You're Not Special is very special indeed. Highly recommend to all my fellow RPG connoisseurs! So much attention to detail and effort put into this game.
This is a great game with a high amount of irony. It really likes to poke fun at traditional adventure games while still maintaining the essentials of any good adventure. With all the many choices you can make in this game, it has a high replay value, which keeps each playthrough fresh, as you attempt to discover every possible ending. Also, it has a phenomenal soundtrack. The puzzles, which are really a central part of this game, are quite enjoyable. They are reminiscent of the Pokemon games. The ice puzzles in particular brought back fond memories of sliding though ice caves in Pokemon Ruby, which was always my favorite kind of puzzle in those games. The puzzles are challenging without being too frustrating. The creators really put a lot of effort and thought into balancing the difficulty. There are still a few bugs here and there, but if you message the devs they are super quick to fix them. Plus, their customer service is topnotch. I'm pretty new to the whole review thing, ...
What a great game! Fun puzzles, clever dialogue, and a fun and engrossing world! You're Not Special is a clever take on a traditional story. It was a lot of fun!
A joy. I have five different saves I'm playing at once, because I constantly want to go back and find out what happens if I make different choices. This little game is fantastic, it packs a big punch, and is quite cute. Just challenging enough to keep me trying the same bits over & over for hours but not so challenging that I give up. Have been telling all my friends.
