I just finished my first playthrough of this game, and I must say that I am absolutely blown away! The characters, both the main cast and villains alike, are all endearing and loveable in their own ways. Everyone here has a story, and I felt myself driven to uncover as much as I could about everyone, and delightfully frustrated when the answers I wanted dangled just out of reach. The horror was well placed without coming across as cheesey or forced, and the music as well as charming 8bit visuals did an excellent job of setting the mood. What I loved most about this game was the lesbian representation. As a lesbian myself, playing through a game with a cast of characters who are just like me was the most refreshing experience I have had in a long, long time. And the romance absolutely delivers, being one of the most heartfelt experiences I have experienced in a game in ages. The emotions evoked in this game are ones that we can all relate to, and I felt the full spectrum over the cour...

About This Game

The year is 1951, somewhere in a small town in Italy; and the lives of five women are about to take an unwanted dip into the dark waters of despair…
You take on the role of a young woman called Libretto Pansatto, an aspiring violinist in her early twenties. Having recently suffered the loss of her mother, Libretto has never felt more hopeless. But in the midst of her life’s biggest tragedy, an exciting opportunity makes itself known – as she receives an invitation to watch her closest friend perform at the grand re-opening of the symphony hall in town.
Soon after arriving at the hall, Libretto feels death is in the air around her…and realizes that this isn’t just any performance – but perhaps the last song that humanity might ever hear...
The Ghost of You is a 510,000+ word epic about love, loss, and survival. You make the choices that shape Libretto’s character; and you shape just what kind of an ending you get. With two romance routes and ten possible endings, will you end up with the girl you love, or will you end up alone? Will you fight the evil going on in this place, or will you join it? And most importantly – will you survive the madness of the symphony hall?
Are you prepared for what’s to come?

510,000+ words. The Ghost of You is a rich, in-depth look into the life of Libretto – and what can happen when just one person has an effect on the lives of so many. With half a million words, we'll make sure you get your money's worth!
You decide on your game. Libretto’s fate is in your hands; from her words to her actions, you choose just what kind of path you want to set her on.
Two romance routes! Decide between Mona Tenebre, Libretto’s lovelorn, gloomy ex-girlfriend; or Elisa Durante, the bright and charming childhood friend who has seen it all. Will either of them win Libretto’s heart in a place like this?
A full soundtrack and 400+ unique sound effects. To enhance your reading experience to its fullest, we have included a classical soundtrack and plenty of haunting sound effects that will get you squirming in your seat.
Ten possible endings. Under your guidance, Libretto can be a woman of many different faces; will she be a kind soul to those around her, or will she be an addition to the evil at work? The choice is yours...and the endings will reflect just what kind of person you were.
An all "yuri" cast. Alongside Libretto and her friends, you’ll also find several other characters to accompany you on your journey…or hinder it. This story is full of an all-female entourage that you won’t want to miss.
Multiple Extras. With the main cast and all the history they bring with them, you can unlock many pieces of their story; and find out just why this symphony hall from hell really exists.
A 75-page long extra route. A prominent couple in the main cast get their own opportunity to share their story - and you can read it after completing the game once. Just how do a mobster and a songstress with a heart of gold fall in love? You'll have it at your fingertips to find out!

this is my first review so hopefully it reads okay! this game blew my expectations out of the water. if you are looking for a lesbian-filled, in depth horror story, then you will love this. my partner and i played through the mona route on her account over the last few days and we both absolutely loved it. the ghost of you is a story about gay ladies and the complex world around them. something terrible is going on for poor libretto, and it's upto you to find out why. it took us quite a while to finish one route considering that we assumed a text-based game wouldn't take too long, so value for money was an incredibly pleasant surprise. but what really impressed me about this game was the attention to detail - i've read a few text adventure books in my time, and this was a genuinely unique experience. every room has lots of vivid description and i felt very engaged with the writing. i also thought that the soundtrack was lovely and personally added great atmosphere for me reading it...
I haven't finished this game but it let me, in the middle of a super dramatic horror scenario, start flirting with the mysterious minion of the Big Bad who is also a sexy butch priest while my ex was there. RIGHT THERE. And you are going to need a LOT to make me not recommend a game that has that.
I'm not playing games without unhinged lesbian vicars from now on my standards are too high
Don't mind my in-game time since it seems bugged. I have around 14h in by the time of writing this review. I completed one route and got a couple of endings and I'm reading the extras before starting a new one. I liked it very much! You can see there was a lot of love put into this game. Things as simple as random sounds or the text backgrounds, they put a lot of care in every little thing and it shows. The story itself is very entertaining! It makes you want to keep playing and know what gonna happen next, and discover the story behind it all. Characters are good too, made me invested in them and be actually worried they don't die. The romance itself it's cute too (and you can skip it if you are not interested). The experience overall is fantastic. Oh, and it might seem dumb, but I loved the font. Good job! We need more games like this, definitely. Will be throwing money at their next game for sure :) The only thing I didnt like much is that on some puzzles there are no way you gonn...
Have not finished playing yet, but so far I'm loving this game. The music, the simple background really added the gore in the game and hell I love the 8bit looks on it as well. Will do a full review once I finish the game. Couldn't help writing it now because I want it to generate a score lol and too excited to wait.
alright, in my last review, I did not give this game justice.
THIS REVIEW IS SPOILER-FREE.
this is an amazing example of "yes you did not know that word even if your english is fluent" where do I begin? from the attention to detail, to giving the player the freedom of choice, in such a simple novel? I'm all about detail, honestly. The more you describe things, the better. and oh boy did they do that alot! It's one of these storytelling styles where you'd make the story go alive in your head. imagining every detail, every description, every shadow, light, glance, and expression... that's why I enjoy reading in general. but not every writer can achieve this. not every writer makes it *fun* to read and make their characters, their stories, come to life. But this one did it. and it was an absolutely amazing experience, thrilling and fun. Exciting, which just also means thrilling... you get the point. You also have to take in consideration on how many visual novels/nove...
The Ghost of You is a text yuri horror story. That alone was enough to sell me on at least trying it and I am very glad that I did. I don't have much time to play games with work and life often getting in the way so each game I try is one I want to be able to really enjoy. I can definitely say that this game did that. This is a game that was apparently written and programmed by two people, which is impressive. A great amount of effort went into this product and I think that it really shows - it reads like a horror-mystery-crime novel with the added dynamics of choice, which I loved. It has nicely constructed and well-rounded characters–I really liked Vicar Sterling! There’s good pacing with plenty of fear and tension and a very intriguing plot. There are dead ends that can trip you up unexpectedly, and well-thought out descriptions of the places and people. There are moments within it that will play on your mind. There are very vivid descriptions of unique rooms - I thought the ...
I love this game so far! I'm not all the way through the story yet but I'm already in love with all the characters. I can already tell I'm going to have to play multiple times so I can try the other routes. If you like yuri then you'll love this game. The villains are completely swoon worthy. I went the Mona route for my first playthrough and I love the romance between her and Libretto, they are so sweet together.
A great text-based game that completely surprised me. I didn't expect it to be as well-written, intense, and scary as it was. The beautiful music and sound effects definitely added to the experience.
