It is a ok game. Generation of map, some ship handeling, some economic handeling, it is all pretty good. You explore and expand. To compare with other games, it is pretty small in content. Closest one is galactic civilization. It is actually alot like that game, but with fewer dlc:s, and the setup of the map work better in Interstellar space. Interstellar space is also, perhaps, more free with player options. Some other ppl doing reviews dose not like that this spiritual successor have added more "fluff". I think the opposite. More stuff, bring it on. Just keep aways from childish things. Things that could be added on: Expanded on the tech tree, could add some buildings that are just for certain civics. More pictures used as leaders, Then just add even more races and make them randomizeable for game setup. Add some pictures for the races only and then races could be completly random in traits etc. And if there are even more things to be added, focus on the populous not the leaders....

A classic 4x space game that has enough interesting build paths to foster plenty of replayability

A 4x *game* first and foremost, where other 4x lean more toward being a sim (Distant Worlds 2) or an experience (Stellaris). It feels like playing with cards and tokens on tiles, featuring grid-based MoO2 style tactical combat. It feels good to replay, with events and what you find not quite being predictable - unless you tell it to do so.

It is basically a modern Master of Orion 2 (MOO2), but lacks the charm. It is actually VERY similar to the reboot of MOO, but without star lanes, and without the aesthetic of that series. It also does nothing novel to solve the tediousness and micromanagement of the late game. The best feature is the sector exploration mechanic. I really can't explain why the charm isn't there, but it just isn't. I can see the effort the developer put into the game, and I am sure their heart is there, but the pieces just don't fall into place. I feel like I'm running through the motions playing it. There is information overload at every step, yet I can ignore almost all of it and still do fine. I am having a hard time finding a reason to tell myself to play it, aside from simply forcing myself to finish a playthrough for the sake of it.

This was an unexpectedly good find. I had given up on a true Masters of Orion successor (MOO3 is not a thing) and found this while perusing through the 4x sale. I picked it up and immediately knew this was the missing piece in my game rotation. There are some QoL short-comings - like the inability to hyperlink to a the planet/ship from the leaders page - but these are quibbles. The devs cared about this experience and it shows - really enjoyed my time so far! One thing that confused me was how to get Assault Ships - it's possible I missed a tutorial, but luckily I found this link: https://steamcommunity.com/app/984680/discussions/0/3158630999998949580/. If you get this on sale, awesome - if you pay full price, still awesome! Worth it.

Sorry to say but this is just boring!

It has a nice retro, Master of Orion feel... but only sort of. It's badly documented (the manual is barely one), and while some tooltips have piles of information, other aspects tell you nothing. I have no idea how to terraform a planet... I had the technology, but I had no idea how to start the project. Enemy race declared war and just... took a number of my planets. The notice that it'd happened was lumped in with the notices that told me my telescopes had found nothing in a remote system. It looks like most of the interesting stuff looks like it's walled behind the DLCs. I don't think this game is worth buying unless you get those, too... since I didn't, I'll be uninstalling this game until they go on sale or something.
