Okey, simply from professional courtesy, i'll revise my review and give a more serious touch, on why this game is so unfun to play. The main campaign of the game contains a 5 chapter story-line, where you start as a village guardian and go all the way to save the realm. Very typical JRPG story for a Deckbuilder, so let's evaluate the game from both sides: JPRG genre: Character: 1/5 There's barely any notable character, your caravan will acompany you through the game but there's like one or two lines they say each chapter, your main characters are abscent. So this is a typical Diablo-style or Dark-soul style story, BUT, without fractured narrative and notable vaillains. World-building: 1/5 You got 4 area, and really each area is mostly just presented by a yellow map. The only additional world-building, is coming from battle background and enemies. There's no actual culture presented, no environmental interaction, and each yellow map has a the exact SAME content nodes in it. Sto...

Those who enjoyed Slay the Spire or Darkest Dungeon will probably enjoy Gordian Quest and see similar elements. There's a lot of meat to chew through if you enjoy reading stats in your spare time, but you can also "build by feel" pretty decently. Combat uses a deckbuilding system and 2 kinds of action points to pay required costs for cards and change position on the field, which is a 6-16 tile grid on each half. Good positioning and reading enemy targeting behaviors are both absolutely essential to survive. There are the usual assortment of blocks, buffs, and status conditions. Balance is bad in an entertaining kind of way. Combat turn order is determined by a D20 roll plus initiative stats. You cannot lose this roll because even a basic wolf pack is happy to kill your party members in one attack. Conversely, if you've survived long enough to get a strong build you'll never lose initiative, can dance back and forth 18 times to gain movement buffs, will incinerate most things be...

6/5 48 hours to complete the campaign ~ Zero party resurrects. Less than 7.6% of the total players have completed the entire campaign *story*. If you are interested in something after this I would recommend: Dark Quest 1, 2 and the 3/rd is rough but beatable.* Across the Obelisk I have two issues: The entire campaign you can only have *up to/total of* 3 characters in a party. The first act is rough enough for me to want to deter new players and people that are wanting a content filled story.... *the first act could end up with the player needing to replay the entire beginning of the story over but the again... that kinda follows throughout the entire game so far....* :kippa :thanks twitch.tv = mossy365

Plenty of content here with 10 heroes to experiment with in a team of three. Every hero has 3 main stats for at least 3 build styles. There are a lot of systems which may make the game overly complex for some, or even more interesting if you enjoy more options. I got a lot of value out of this game, though I would have appreciated a deeper story. Enjoyed the unique mechanics in boss designs. Good luck to Mixed Realms in their next game "13Z the Zodiac Trial". Thanks

GQ has yummy bits of everything. If you like winning, building your team, improving character's unique traits, lots of fun details to control if you want to, and did I mention winning. Normal level is perfect for relaxed game.
