About This Game

Hybrid Real Time Combat

Prepare and launch monster moves that execute in real time. Spend stamina to enhance the speed, power and timing of monster moves. Several monster moves benefit differently from rapid follow up attacks or slow, powerful strikes. With no RNG mechanics like accuracy or critical strikes, experience strategic combat that seeks to take monster battling to the next level.

Survive the Wilderness

Travel, camp, and find and prepare food for your team of monsters as you journey through dangerous procedurally generated wilderness areas. Select between one of three different routes, each with their own gameplay adjusting modifiers, as you journey from zone to zone. Travelling with larger teams of monsters might be safer in combat, but will require more food to maintain.

Meaningful weather Effects

Experience dramatic changes in weather that affect combat in ways that cannot be ignored. Weather affects monsters based on their element type. Take advantage of your environment by choosing the right monsters and correctly choosing your actions in battle.

Design Your Perfect Monster Team

Make significant choices about how to develop the stats and movesets of your monsters. Shore up your weaknesses or expand your options in battle by choosing a secondary element type. Create teams that fit your ideal combat and survival strategies, whether you focus on mitigating damage in slow paced, tactical combat or opt for a riskier plan of all in aggression.

The Power Of Bonds

Earn the friendship and loyalty of your monsters by keeping them happy and reap material benefits in combat and survival. Stronger bonds with your monsters allow them to more efficiently boost their moves in combat and endure more KOs before dying

h2]Monster Death[/h2]
When monsters die, they are gone forever. Monsters with higher Bond have more Life Points and can endure more KOs in battle. Your favorite monster’s Life Points can be restored by allowing it to rest in storage. Or monsters you care nothing for may be sacrificed in combat to make a hasty escape from a dangerous situation. (Monster death can be disabled via difficulty settings)

Customizable Difficulty

Settings for every kind of player. Independently adjust difficulty options for survival, combat and monster death. Disable monster death completely or increase the tension of combat by playing Nuzlocke inspired settings where even one KO means permanent death for your monsters. Play using the Standard survival mode where each second counts as you and your monsters grow hungry in real time. Or play at your own pace using the Alternate survival mode where hunger is not affected by the in game clock but is instead exclusively tied to healing your monsters at camp.

End Of Days Mode

A repeatable, challenging survival mode where the towns you seek to save grow closer to destruction each day as the world’s monsters grow stronger. Use your strongest monsters with the deepest bonds to overcome this nightmare scenario

This may be one of my favorite early access games I've ever discovered. My nostalgia for Pokémon quickly made me form a kinship with TLM, and with the novel battle system in addition to a brand new world of monsters to explore, train, and master make this a great game. Even though it's early access I've logged 20+ hours and I cannot wait to see how this game develops even further. The developers are also really nice, hard working, and receptive.

This is shaping up to be a wonderful game and unlike any monster tamer or Pokemon-like I've ever seen. Even early access, it's an absolute steal for $15. The UI could use some refining, but the actual game mechanics are surprisingly polished. There's a lot of lovely little ideas; like all the monsters you catch have unique personalities composed of 3 distinct personality spectrum metrics that also influence their stats. And, I cannot stress this enough, you can play campfire songs for your monsters. It's amazing.

The game was fun at first, but lacks depth and motivation for continuing. On top of all that, the game is dead and hasn't been updated in over a year and a half. Don't waste your time or money.

Having a bit of a hard time thus far. I've as soon as I left town, I spawned on the map to walk around, but my avatar was stuck in the terrain. I could look around with the flash light, but the movement keys did nothing. On other attempts, when I am able to move around, it seems as if I'm doomed to be mobbed by 3 monsters at the same time. Not sure if it was coincidence or not, but all 3 were the same element and type of monster as mine, so I couldn't really deal with one of them quickly in hopes of winning. I'm sure part of that challenges is just me being new. I'me going to give it some more time before I pass judgement, but currently I'm feeling iffy about things.

Good take on monster taming genre, it is trying something new and shows real good potential.

For an early access the game does very well. The game balance is good as it stands right now and bond feature while limited at the moment shows potential and is a mechanic I'm enjoying at the moment. The game has enough content right now to be worth the price.

(Edit: This game died in 2020. Dev team split and there are no updates.) Great game, allows for a decent degree of freedom and customization, while encouraging collection to unlock new moves and gene upgrades to enhance your team with. This is NOT the monster raising game you grew up with. It's more in line with one of the banned pokemon episodes that showed just what happens when wildlife has superpowers. Life is gritty, dark and brutal, and while your taming gauntlet will save you in emergencies, your whole team can die. Nights are an onslaught of enemies that spawn on a timer with every encounter. Kill all of the enemies on your screen or gamble on the endless hordes on a rare spawn showing up to capture. Dawdle without preparation, and you will be overwhelmed. The only way you can keep your team from dying on a loss is by building a bond with them. Succeed and they can hang on through one loss, two for your oldest, closest companions before they are lost forever. This isn't a Sou...

This game is so so SO awesome! I love pretty much everything about it. I love that my monsters are my companions with names, and the game requires some level of care from me. everything was thought out so well, even down to the options in building your avatar. If you see The Last Monsters, Give it a try. You will be super impressed!!

Not nearly as buggy as I originally expected, a really wonderfully fleshed out start to an amazing mashup of genres and game mechanics. If you are interested in games of survival/monster collecting and battling, I implore you give this bad boy a test drive! Love: *Dynamic maps, Day/night cycle and Weather system that affects battle/wild mons **Difficulty is very scaleable! Numerous different settings that can be adjusted at start and mid-game, including "nuzlocke" style play. This is generally speaking a more difficult styled game on default settings, I like that a lot. ***Battle System is unique and very complex, intensifies greatly in complexity the more monsters come onto the field. ****I personally love the monster designs. In your monster-PC-hub-storage thingy they appear as adorable 8-bit sprites Room for Improvement: *Graphics/art could be spruced up for some monsters. Some look a little more....rough around the edges than others. **Maybe the battle system is new...

its in early access so there are bugs but the game is really fun and it deserves more attention than it currently has this is the only creature collector i have ever played more than once and haven't dropped it because of the monotony of grinding because i enjoy survival games all in all if you enjoy survival games and like the idea of creature collectors but dont like playing them this is the perfect game for you since the only thing that is close to combining survival with creature collectors is the minecraft mod pixelmon and lets be honest that is just minecraft but pokemon exist Edit: Changed this to, "Do not reccomend", because the game is dead. So is the discord server. Was fun while it lasted.
