Resolutiion

This game is pretty cool. It looks like Hyper Light Drifter, but plays more like classic Zelda. The difficulty is just right. The exploration is excellent; the game does not restrict you significantly, you choose where to go. There are different abilities you unlock as you progress, which adds variety to the gameplay. Also, the story is fairly deep, and isn't clearly explained; it's something you have to piece together (or look up on the now-archived wiki, which has a surprising amount of lore). Ultimately, I wish this game had been more successful, as it seems like the devs had big plans for the universe they created.

Resolutiion is an excellent indie game with a striking pixel art style and an atmospheric, mysterious world that pulled me in right away. The visuals are vibrant and a little odd in the best way, and the soundtrack really complements the surreal vibe. I enjoyed exploring the world — it's full of strange tech and interesting looking characters. While I personally would've liked a bit more narrative clarity, that may have clashed with the cryptic narrative approach chosen. I did get stuck in one area for a while, which was a bit frustrating circling around the map, but overall, it didn’t take away what I enjoyed about the game. It’s clear a lot of love went into this. If you enjoy artful, slightly abstract indie games with style and substance, Resolutiion is absolutely worth your time.
