Gameplay was pretty bare-bones and sub-adequate for the well-plumbed depths of turn-based tactical gameplay, but the real offender here is the writing. I guess comedy is extremely subjective but I found it to be insipid and unfunny dreck. Get Yahtzee to come in here and punch this script up, pronto.

Awesome turn-based RPG. Sassy and witty dialogs, great characters, and nice combats. Everything that you want in a turn-based, strategy, RPG, game.
I've been playing turn-based RPGs for a good part of the last 25 years and it's my favorite genre, so when I saw this game on sale I figured why not. Sadly this game is NOT FUN. There are mechanics like critical failure rolls to make the game more challenging but this is just lazy and annoying. I picked a hard difficulty and was expecting enemies to hit harder, have more health, be more tactical but instead I got critical failure rolls. There are also 7 members in the party with option to add more which I think is too much. I like the standard 4-5 party members with option for lone wolf or anything in between, but sadly that's not offered here. I didn't have high expectations for this game but just sad I have to give up on it so soon.
This is a game based on a funny french serie of the same name, and if you're a fan I 100% recommend it for the gags alone. If you aren't a fan however, what you have is a weird, frustrating turn based RPG with hidden mechanics and very high difficulty. The game is very frustrating not only because it's unfair, but because the mechanics inside that you need to know to make you decisions are hidden or very hard to see. Even on the normal difficulty, you need to calculate every move and it's almost impossible to do so as you can't see what the enemy buff are doing to them. Also, the damage you do is shown on a very small bar and is a random number, so it might kill it, or it might leave it with a few hp, you can't know. Finally, you have a choice between three characters but in the end, all enemies hit so hard that if you haven't picked the healer, you're fucked. (And you can't change it once you've chosen). Overall, if you're a fan of the serie, buy it, you'll enjoy the humor, o...

During the tutorial combat I had a sudden urge to do number two on the toilet. With my Bluetooth headset still on my head, I did just that. After a while the ranger said: "Please, this is really not the time to take a dump!"
It really does have everything that I'd want on a turn-based RPG but I don't know why I don't love it... but I really like though, 8/10
Great game. fun and comical. Not for kids though despite the art style.
The Frenchness radiates off of this game like an old cheese. That being said, if you can get past the the writing (while I didn't love it, I didn't hate it either), you'll find a deliciously crunchy love letter to old school tactical murderhobo-ing. Fights are just the right amount of challenging (Epic Geist difficulty), and progression is satisfying and interesting. Surprisingly good tactical battling experience overall. I wish there was a bit more forced movement/positioning game a la Blood Bowl, but what is there is still good. Tossing the dwarf is great. Only real downside for me is that some of the English voice acting sometimes feels flat. The main characters are pretty good though. Game's so good it makes me wish France was real. A steal on sale.
Mechanically, the game is fun. I love turn based combat games like this. Planning to set up something big. Lots of synergies among the characters. Fights, so far, haven't felt repetitive as baddies have had different abilities. Maps have traps and obstacles that require you to pay attention. There's bits to explore, skills help you find more things. Some good puzzles. Solid game play. That said, I HATE how 4 characters have to comment on every interaction. It takes so long and they're all tropes/insults/nonsense. They don't add anything to the game. The parody would be stronger by have fewer comments/interactions. Of course the dwarf and elk hate each other, it's a trope worthy of parody. But we don't need comments from BOTH of them every 10 seconds. It's made worse by not having the best voice acting for most of the characters. Because there's so many character, it's just a constant stream poorly done "banter" and I'm tired of it already. The camera is a bit wonky but manageabl...
