A Civilization clone? Worlds Collide is a new game that is out in early access on Steam on December 14, 2018 and developed by Otter Otter Game. it has such a strange concept which is what attracted me to it. Just looking at some of the pictures from the Steam Store page you would think that it is just a clone of the popular Civilization series by Sid Meiers but the developers states that it is a "Real-time strategy game" and i thought to myself "how can it be a real-time strategy game when it looks like a Civilization clone and will probably play like one? I gotta check this out" and so i went ahead and bought it and boy was i wrong about it. First Impression Soon I launched the game and was brought to the main menu. It was nothing too special. Nice background picture and menu blends right in. Now its time to setup a game and see what the game has. I was quite surprised that this game has this many faction as most early access games usually only have 1, 2 or 3 factions. Here we ha...

I get a strong sense that this is about to be a good game. "It just needs some tweaks". But it has been released from Early Access with an annoying, confusing interface. With a weird pace that makes victory unsatisfying. With bizarre errors in the text for the tech tree items. There are some ideas here that kinda work, and it's oddly addictive, but there are plenty of better games out there, and so I can't recommend this one.
The worst game I've purchased in a while and I don't say that easily. The game is way to cumbersome for all the amount of managing you have to do. The slowest speed is so fast I found myself pausing it every minute to complete all of the numerous tasks to keep my military functioning and fighting. In my game everyone was attacking me but I survived and thrived, but with the constant attacks came much micromanaging. Moving troops around, replacing outdated troops with a new one. I am unaware of any feature in the game to upgrade the units. To make it more difficult, there was no way to determine which of my troops belonged to what city. It matters if you want to know which ones to delete to get the manpower needed to build new ones. The research process is clunky at best. The icons you select to build structures remain visible and once built it returns to the appearance before it was unlocked. I had to refer to structures completed or hover the cursor over it see if it was built. The ma...
Buy it and support Indie developers. New take on Civ Style games, fun dynamic and interesting to see where it goes.
late game is a bit frantic as the barbs keep spawning and managing so many cities is awkward. Can't rename units so their earned abilities are hard to keep track of. Soundtrack needs work. Strategy is linear. Should get better with some simple improvements like improving city resource production and the research tree is too small.
Not too bad. It's a bit fast paced; I also played with like 30 AI so that may have been why. But all in all I think it's got a good idea behind it and it has potential to be quite good.
a nice twist on Civ games, runs decent some minor flaws, lag spikes, slow save feature, well worth to purchase
major problem with it is that - it's too fast-paced for me. Specifically, I rarely have the time to build anything other than army units. The fact that natural disasters are so punishing and barbarians spawn everywhere makes the game feel very stressful, without making it more interesting.
The game has had several updates. After a rocky beginning it is now in a state that is very playable and fun. Could still benefit from some tweaking but is very stable with very few bugs. Recommended even at the stage it is.
North South East West Everywhere FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT ! And the Research prompt just escaped my notice every time. Research is also too fast paced and there's no option to length the game. Basically, from stone age to cannons very fast. The moment cannons was researched, my Qin crossbow at the other side of the map die like immediately with no warning, because enemy's cannon killed it. That is the furthest I played. Want to play a 4X game, not DOTA.
