[h3]Don't buy this. [/h3] I can't even launch the game because Ubisoft Connect asks for an activation key, which simply doesn't exist since I bought it on Steam. This is a great game, but unfortunately, the service is really subpar. What a ridiculous loop of confusion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Got it in a sale for 6€ and thought I could try it out as I liked the settlers (2,3,4) when I was younger. In short the short the game does not know what it really wants and it lacks polish. There is still some base building. I like the idea of adding houses and farms to resource buildings, because it makes nicer cities. While this sounds nice in theory, it gets repetitive very fast. If you see a resource spot, you want it and build the necessary buildings. There is no real decision making. When it comes to combat, there are different types of units and they gather exp, so you want to keep them alive and get invested in the fights. Instead of single units, you have small squats (~5units) as smalles controllable unit. But this makes it very difficult to spot which units belong to which squad, which units to pull back,... sometimes it is also difficult to differenciate between you and the enemy. An old RTS game, that for some reason requires me to login/create account for Ubisoft's platform... Other than that, game is pretty good, no skirmish mode but the campaign is long and challenging.
