A short game, with a big flaw. I need to say that this game marked a certain part of my life (2020 Lockdown.). So i'll be a little biased. I first saw a Spanish YouTuber (Alexelcapo) playing this game, with a rather interesting thumbnail on his YouTube video. It was one night at 4 a.m., and I’m not going to lie — the game hooked me instantly. I pirated it right away, stopping the video at around the 20-minute mark, because the game is expensive and, well, I didn’t have any way to get money other than birthdays or certain special occasions. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up doing an any% deathless speedrun of the entire game (1:44 hrs), despite being a complete newbie to speedrunning. The game meant so much to me that it stuck with me for quite some time. It’s the only memory from 2020 that I can truly treasure. Five years later, now I can buy my own games, I saw this game on sale on Steam — and you know what? It really caught my interest again. 2020 left a huge m...

its really neat and i enjoy most the game play but i like just cant navigate the map like at all , this game DESPERATLY needs a map of some sort cause im constantly gettting lost due to everything looking the same and the map being twisty turny , if they were to ever add a map system id consider suggesting it to someone but as the game stands it doesnt warrant the amount of getting lost ive had ruffly 30 minutes maybe an hour if im pushing it of actualy gameplay the rest of that tie has been me going from empty room to empty room trying to find where im supposed to go (ruffly 2 hours of being lost) TLDR: level is hard to navigate, game needs a map system cause you need an online guide to navigate it at all
This is pretty much a John Carpenter's "The Thing" simulator which I'd only recommend picking up when it's on sale. It's fun for a couple of hours (took me ~4hrs to finish), but there's a weird amount of back-tracking/frustration to it, which gets a bit much towards the end. The pixel graphics and everything else is good tho.
Really worth it. Although I can't believe I finished it because I spent half the time losing my way due to short memory and bad sense of direction lmao
I played through the whole game and even got all the achievements, but I can't say I recommend the game. I got it on sale and would have been very disappointed if I'd paid full price for it. It's not a long or difficult game. The game strongly feels like it should be a metroidvania. The cool, labyrinthine lab, the mutation upgrades, the different "zones" of the base. Except it just doesn't play that way. The game is incredibly linear, and will very often close pathways behind you meaning playing through this game felt less like exploring the world and more like being funneled through it. Maybe this design was intended to avoid the usual pitfalls of endless backtracking and aimless wandering in metroidvanias, but I personally felt like it robbed agency from the player. I wasn't making my own choices of where to go, what to investigate, what to attempt to solve. Whenever you encounter a puzzle you immediately solve it, because there is not really any other course of action o...
The game is fun, well-made and boy do I love supporting games that hit me with Polish surnames in the credits, but I cannot, with a clear conscience, recommend buying this game. 6-9 hours of gameplay with almost no replayability should absolutely not cost as much as this one does. I waited long for a discount after being warned of this; the best I got was a bit less than half of its current price and it was still way overpriced.
The level design here is extremely confusing. There is barely any indication of where to go, and it doesn't have a minimap.... in a metroidvania. Power fantasy novelty wears off after 1-2 encounters. Skip this one.
I did 100% this game and it was an enjoyable experience all throughout. Even without going for all the achievements the physics of this game are so fun, to just slink around and eat everything in your path it's amazing! I have never played a game like this with this premise, one of a kind. Plus who doesn't want to be a giant pulsating flesh monster straight out of John Carpenter's 1982 The Thing? The gore in this game genuinely isn't bad at all, if anything I would say it's not gorey enough but only held back by the art style and pixel graphics - but that's not a bad thing in the slightest. I streamed this game for maybe 20 minutes on call with a friend and he immediately played it afterwards, which I think says all it needs to! Lets eat people... together :)
Cooooool game but my god is it hard to navigate (you can find maps online tho so it's ok)
