About This Game

THE STORY

The first manned mission to colonize planet Mars is finally launched into space. But before reaching the destination, the mission ends in disturbing circumstances: The crew of the ship has disappeared without leaving any trace.

While the scientific community struggles to understand the inexplicable events, all other colonization missions are postponed indefinitely.

The Space Agency, desperate to find out what happened, decides to send a new mission to investigate the strange events.

The new crew, consisting of scientists, astronauts, and robots with the latest Artificial Intelligence, embarks on a journey into the unknown that will challenge their scientific beliefs and will reveal a previously unknown side of the Universe, forever changing the role of humanity in space.

The Conquest of Space doesn’t seem so achievable anymore…

ABOUT THE VISUAL NOVEL

Event-D is a sci-fi Visual Novel, featuring a thought-provoking story about human exploration of space and questioning the role of humanity in this endeavor.

It is a serious story, aimed at sci-fi fans and players who value story-rich experiences without having to spend hours and hours grinding.

If you’ve ever been curious about Visual Novels, but you are turned off by the ecchi side of most VNs, you won’t find that in this game, so I invite you to give it a try ;)

FEATURES:

 • Kinetic Visual Novel (linear narrative with single ending).
 • Story length: about 60.000 words.
 • Play Time: 4 to 5 hours.
 • Fast and straightforward storytelling, no pointless conversations.
 • No ecchi, loli or waifu content.
 • Thrilling and engaging musical ambient.
 • Produced in 3D (rendered images), with a completely different look from all other visual novels.
 • Unlike most visual novels, Event-D doesn’t use character sprites over backgrounds. Instead, thanks to the 3D workflow, every image throughout the story is a unique rendered image, with unique poses, rich environments, and camera angles.

Not a game but a visual novel. Very interesting Sci F story about nature of humanity and robotic life. A few typos and a few errors with english language but overall a very good story and well worth the entry price. I got nearly 5 hours out of this story so well worth it. Scrapland 7182
Visit SaveOrQuit.com for detailed game reviews, posted daily!
Event-D is a story-driven visual novel. It doesn’t have any gameplay so to speak, and its main feature really is its story which takes us to outer space in order to solve a mystery. So, right off the bat, if you are looking for an RPG or a game to make some story-related decisions, this is not it. But if you are interested in good stories, especially those involving space travel, then stay in your seats. 3 years after one of the space missions went wrong and the crew of the ship disappeared, a new crew is sent to locate the missing ship, to find out what happened there, and to bring it back with any survivors. We are that rescue crew, consisting of specialists from various fields. The story starts off a little slowly as all the main characters are introduced, but it picks up nicely after that and sets a good pace full of intense moments, climaxes, and twists. At the same time, it manages to delve enough in...

3/10 - Bad: Littered with spelling and grammar errors, Event-D seems like a novel where the director has forgotten that they’re doing a visual novel. The story takes great pains to tell you what is happening, what is being ‘felt’ by each character, and so on, rather than allowing the story to take place and let the place infer things or try to figure things out themselves. The various elements fail to work together; For example, visual novels have a visual aspect, there’s character sprites and background art that shows you what is happening. Oft, the novel doesn’t bother to take advantage of this, even if the art shows something happening, the text will go to great pains to explain in-depth what is actually going on. Furthermore, when there is dialogue, a dialogue box pops up with the character’s name etc. Which, excuse the obviousness, is designed to show you who is speaking. And yet, the game goes to even greater pains to point out who is saying what. Example of what...

A hidden gem of Science-Fiction story! Event-D is a kinetic novel set in space and dealing with thematics like human evolution and artificial intelligence. The characters are all interesting, but some are more often seen than others. If you have a favorite, they may not get a lot of screen time. Talking about screens, the presentation is similar to a photo novel, where you can see illustrations of everything happening in addition to reading it. This makes it feel like watching a movie while reading its script at the same time. The story itself knows how to keep a constant flow of events to hook the reader, jumping from an unexpected event to an unsuspected twist, always in a logical way. Sci-Fi is not used here to poorly explain set up plot twists. It's a great story than every sci-fi lover should read. Highly recommended!

A very good science fiction game that, as other reviews have said, does not seem too far from reality-or the near future. Emotional, drama filled story telling at its best. Good sound track, generally a feel-good game. Worth playing through once.

Very, very pleased with this kinetic novel (no choices, to the uninitiated). The dosh was well-spent. I appreciate that something like this won't be everybody's cup of Bovril but it's a pretty tight sci-fi story - one with an internally-consistent yet adventurous plot, a twist or two, villains and some commentary on human nature. And humour - always important to have a dash of that. It was precisely upon reaching a climactic point when my laptop suddenly and inexplicably shut itself down. Words cannot readily convey my frustration at that moment; however my fist pounding the table it rested upon and upsetting my nearby beverage just might... And that, my friends, provides an excellent measure of how "gripping" I have found this story to be. For those seeking cute anime birds prancing about in their pantii, sorry lads but there's none of that here. However what you will find is some intriguing artwork. The backgrounds are great - as are the sprites which are all 3D stills (which is d...

Interesting dialogues between the characters, and their place in this alternate future. The future of robotics and artificial life's acceptance as autonomous beings is an interesting thought in itself. The storyline itself is easy enough for most people to grasp; no understanding of astronomy or robotics required! Very straightforward story telling. Wastes no time with much extraneous dialogue. Easy to put on "Auto" and just coast along. Sometimes if you read the monitor screens ingame, there are strange Latin phrases. I have not had the chance to decipher much of them, but it would be cool to feature a part of the game that translates them! Great work for a single person to undertake. Any complaints would be minor. I wish more people knew about this gem.

This is a moving story presenting very real issues to do with humanoid robotics in regard to human desire to conquer - let alone conquer space. I literally found myself glued to the edge of my chair, very inspired and yet left with quite a lump in my throat. Great art, character expressions that fully support the story and it's moods. I thoroughly recommend this.

Interesting story and believable characters. After entirely too many games and visual novels that feature the supernatural, it is good to read a sci-fi story for a change. Looking forward to the continuation of the story!
