Recommended

I've played countless hours outside of steam, back when the game first came out. This game was my life for more than a year. What a nostalgia trip for me it is. A portal to simplier times.

This game used to have a very fun multiplayer mode with massive battles on large scale maps, futuristic equipment, ground and air vehicles. I remember having the chance to try it out in 2008 through a PC Gamer magazine disk which had a demo that included the whole multiplayer mode. It took a while for my 12 year old self to get used to the massive recoil of the guns but eventually I had a lot of fun. Unfortunately the game servers are shut down and the campaign doesn't offer enough to be the sole reason for owning this game. If I remember correctly, the story ends with an implication that there will be a sequel but that never happened. All in all, at its current state, I don't think the game is worth the money or time anymore. Looking back, it's a shame Frontlines: Fuel of War never became more popular and that many people never had a chance to experience it at its peak.

I usually don't remember quotes from cinematics but I remember the guy in this game discussing alternative fuel sources and saying "That shit didn't pan out."
