why tf would a game make a friend pass that expires? absolutely ignorant. these games suck
The Game is visually impressive. From the eerie corridors of the SS Ourang Medan to the expressive character models, it’s clear Supermassive Games put serious effort into the aesthetic. Sound Design: The ambient noises, musical score, and voice acting all contribute to a haunting atmosphere. It’s one of the few elements that consistently delivers tension. What Doesn’t Pacing & Engagement: The story unfolds like an interactive movie, but unfortunately, it’s one that drags. Long, unskippable sequences make replaying—or even finishing—a chore. The horror elements are diluted by sluggish pacing and a lack of emotional investment in the characters. Quick Time Events (QTEs): These are frequent and often feel more like interruptions than moments of tension. Miss one, and you’re punished harshly. It’s a mechanic that’s supposed to heighten suspense, but here it mostly frustrates. Replayability: While the game boasts multiple endings and branching paths, the incentive to re...

Strange sightings and growing paranoia drive a branching story where anyone can live or die.
Gameplay
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan is an interactive drama survival horror game with strong paranormal elements, played from a third-person perspective with fixed camera angles. Movement uses tank-style controls, making navigation feel heavy. You control five different characters, solo or in multiplayer, and between chapters encounter the Curator, a mysterious figure who offers cryptic commentary and opti...
This one was my least favorite but we've definitely gotten worse since and a lot of the performances in this have become pretty meme-able in returning to them.
I´d say 5/10, story was kinda short and weird and we encountered some random bugs but overall it was decent, wont probably approve but feel free to test :)
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan is the inaugural entry in Supermassive Games’ horror anthology series, and it sets the tone for what the developers aimed to build: cinematic, branching narrative horror games that emphasize player choice, moral ambiguity, and character-driven storytelling. Much like the studio’s earlier success Until Dawn, Man of Medan draws heavily from horror film tropes—in this case, the ghost ship and supernatural thriller genres—while adding interactive elements that give players direct control over how the story unfolds. Though it doesn't quite reach the heights of its spiritual predecessor in terms of scope or polish, it offers a tense and atmospheric experience that thrives on its unpredictability and replayability. The story centers on a group of five young adults—Alex, his brother Brad, Alex’s girlfriend Julia, her brother Conrad, and their boat captain Fliss—who set out on a diving expedition in the South Pacific. They’re searching ...
Pretty crap game. Until Dawn was great, but this... The characters are boring and neither likeable nor unlikeable, there's a serious lack of story, it's like a walking simulator with poor controls where very little happens. A few jump scares and mildly interesting secrets to be found. I didn't mind playing the first couple hours, then I lost all interest and just headed for the ending. Hoping the other episodes in the anthology are a lot better.
