Don't know 'bout you, guys, but personally? I always had a special place in my heart for those. I mean, when it's about b-movies? There are no rules. When it's about the big league, people are often like “no-no-no, those effects don't look realistic!” and “no-no-no, the story is too silly!”. When it's about b-movies, though? It's exactly the opposite. That time-traveling cyborg dude with Mega-Man's Mega Buster and tank tread in his butt looks cheap? Of course, he does! It's a b-movie! Alien carnies who kill people sound like a silly idea? Of course, it's stilly! It's a b-movie! Heck, we can have evil tomatoes as the main villains and there won't be any need to explain anythi...
Having watched a couple movies in the Sharknado series and appreciating them for the goofy, campy works that they are I thought I'd try out this game. The game kicks off with a relatively short cutscene to give you a little context on the situation and why you're about to go to battle with a lot of sharks. It felt a little out of place to me, but it did have a couple of pretty funny parts that set the humorous tone that you'll see throughout the game. The game controls feel very similar to most first person shooters which is always good. Being able to move freely in the play area is pretty neat as most VR games I've played lock you down to a single spot. Depending on how well you (and your brain) handle VR games this can be a little jarring however, so if you tend to feel motion sickness from VR in general like myself, I'd recommend sitting while you play. Graphically I thought the game looked quite good compared to other VR games I've played. Sharks look really detailed and gli...
Complete garbage
This game is pretty fun. I know that there's a number of VR wave shooters out there but this one adds some nice little extras that make it worth checking out. As someone who enjoyed the Sharknado movies, I like how this game works to keep that campy unintentionally (but really intentionally) humour that is present in the "films". I also liked the joystick movement that allowed me to play the game without getting out of my chair. There were a couple things that I would change though, the weapons feel a little underpowered, especally early in the game and the chainsaw (which looks and sounds great) should in my opinion chop the sharks up in one hit. I also noticed a couple lag spikes when I had to deal with several sharks at the same time but that could be beacause I'm running the bare minimum in terms of hardware. As I stated above, it's pretty fun, I would recommend it.
What a fun game!! I have played multiple VR games and this is the only one I've played with free movement in the play area. I love FPS games and this one is very immersive and engaging. It's fun to watch the sharks blow up into peices when you defeat them, and the little play area cutscenes are super funny. I laughed lots. THE LOST IT AT THE PORTER POTTY GUY FLYING AROUND! Also: a bunch of sharks piled up in one spot and I blew them all up with the the RPG. HOW SATISFYING. I like the graphics too because it's all detailed and there's like pits and stuff and I feel like I was gonna fall in it but I didn't and I was glad. I RECCOMEND IT!
pretty cool
I think it goes without saying, that Sharknado VR: Eye of the Storm is a killer app. Without question, with start of a revolution for the entire video game industry. Truly, a masterclass in story telling and character development. A true work of Art, that will not doubt set records and expectations moving forward. It brings a tear to my eye, at the mere sight of the title. Those involved with the project will likely move on to create some of the greatest games of our generation, and be heavily commended for their work on such a masterful experience. 6.9/10.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
This is a 360 wave shooter, where you can move freely inside a small square area. I think the negative reviews are exaggerated, but this still isn't good enough for me to recommend, even at the $3 USD price. It's just not polished enough. There's enough issues that I can't recommend this wave shooter. However, it's not awful. There are some good ideas here. They're just not well-implemented. Quite frankly, if you're okay with jank & some technical issues, this can be a fun little game. You have different weapons & upgrades to unlock. Sharks & squids, & other dangerous objects slam down on you and you have to move out of the way or shoot them down. You can even jump out of the way. It's mindless arcade shooter action. The main problem is the hit detection. I swear I would hit targets and get no credit for it. Also, the weapons are unbalanced as heck. Once you get the unlimited ammo rifle, there's no reason to use anything else. Sharks will g...
