this game is great. After you have purchased it, now before you go ahead and drop 10+ hours into the game just to realize the game doesn't save your progress, I would suggest doing the following: 1. when you start the game and are doing the first chapter of your character's questline, try to find the first save point of the game (it would look like a book on a stand with the "!" icon) and save your progress. 2. Log out of the game or return to the title screen, then check if your "Continue" option is grey out or not. If it is NOT grey out and you can click on the option, then don't worry about the rest and you can go ahead and enjoy the game. BUT, if it IS GREY OUT, do the following (well, at least this method works for me, but feel free to check other methods through discussion forums). 3. Quit the game (close the game completely), go to windows bar and search "Virus and Threat protection". Scroll down till you see "Virus and Threat Protection Settings", click on Manage Set...

Meh. Boring af. - The story is too generic - Random encounters every 15s - Fights is fun for first 10-15h, then you stuck with boring zero-challenge something without speed up option - Pretty useless elemental attacks, so you're not even allowed to have some joy with magic vfx - Every time you finish a fight, you have already forgotten what you were doing on the map and where you were going in this monotonous labyrinth, but don't worry, another useless heal item is definitely worth it!
Got this game a week ago, remembered it was in my steam library, started playing around 7:00 pm and stopped around 4:45 am. Extremely fun
I got this game (on sale, key point here) due to the general raving reviews of JRPG enthusiast. And imo the experience with the game been very mixed. Pros: -New and novel (somewhat) progression for JRPG emphasis on gear and game knowledge dependent vs grinding. -Interesting (break mechanics) which is key to fighting boss mechanics and dealing dmg. -8 character stories vs 1 linear one -Relatively free form adventure (you pick the order of how the story unfold) -Primary + Secondary Class mechanic can be interesting (but needs work - go to cons) Cons: -Because the progression depends on meta gaming Early -> Mid Game will be a big jump in difficulty -Pretty repetitive with how grinding and random battle works. Questing similar as well. Go here talk to this person, go to next person, talk/path action them, come back -8 stories are honestly not interwoven making it narratively shallow. -Some classes are frankly just bad which is why are never pick as secondaries. Most/all class don't have...
What a great game... Can't wait for OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 Have it on Playstation and Steam.
A really good JRPG. Worth the price, the combat is fun, the OST is amazing and the characters are interesting.
it can get repetitive and it doesnt really get more complex than the first few hours, like a modern version of the old 2d final fantasies except you can steal from then knockout every npc in every town
They're still asking $60 for a game that was a $40 title to begin with. Lots of charm, but it got tedious and the format of the storylines is just kind of clunky. Worth it if it's on sale.
Addictive gameplay and short dialogs, 10/10
Great JRPG, plenty of content, great stories
