If you are a Tower Defense addict, get Elemental War. You will like it. While it is currently in development through Early Access, it is enjoyable now, and I only foresee it getting better. In the beginning of a game, you can only build a basic arrow tower. After every 5 levels, an enemy representing one of 7 elements comes out. When you destroy it, you can use that element to upgrade your towers. You will need 2 of that element to upgrade those towers to level 2, and 3 for the max upgrade. (Based on game mode, the element is either random or chosen by you.) When you get two different elements, you can combine them to create more distinct towers. For example, Earth and Water make a mud tower to slow down enemies, water and nature combine to create a poison tower, shadow and nature combine to make a death tower which has a chance to instantly kill any enemy. That's not all!!! You can get even more towers by combining 3 different elements. Three element towers can stun enemies, buff o...

If you want a single player campaign DON"T BUY THIS. After choosing Single Player you are just presented with a list of maps to mess around with.
This is shaping out to be the best, most challenging and unique Tower Defence game I have played. The uniqueness is the way towers can be upgraded using choice of 7 differing elements. Not only can the towers be upgraded to a higher level but can also be combined with another element producing more distinct towers. This gives you a total of 192 differing towers that can be built supporting your game style against the many various and harder enemies as the game ramps up. Has a very good tutorial, very nice and unique graphics and the ability to create your own maps. The devs are incredibly responsive to the player base, and act immediately to problems, requests and ideas / input on how to improve the game (take a look at the discussion page). Recommended.
Excellent TD, despite some performance issues. Reminds me of the good ol' days when I first started playing Element TD way back in 2006. The game comes with a plethora of quality of life improvements that enhances the playability of tower defense genre. I hope the developer is able to iron out the performance issues. Currently running a GTX1070.
A good selection of tower and a multitude of different strategies make this a pretty good game. It's filling my need for a different tower defence game until the new GC very nicely.
Nice game. Lots of potential. It is essentially the game Element TD with better graphics and some different tower combos.
Only a couple of hours in, and I am liking what I am seeing. Good graphics, interesting upgrade system, good minimap option and unannoying music. The tutorial gives you a good grip on the game, albeit they can drag on a bit (paticularly No 3). There seems to enough different elements (no pun intended) to set it apart from others in the genre. The leaderboard will keep me focused (how on earth did they get that score? - I will have to try harder!) Developers appear very responsive - a tutorial problem was fixed in a couple of hours.
So far so good i really like the game it plays a bit differnt depending on game mode than most other tower defence games wich gives more depth to it i would say if your in to tower defence games pick it up i really like the hero mode so far i like the idea of putting equipment to change the tower even more, when they drop from bosses .
I can understand that they have tried to make a good TD game. But this is not what you will find as a entertaining game for the price (20€ at the moment). The game is demanding a lot of your PC, and it is really messy when it comes to gameplay. Would not reccomend, but if you want to try it out and see for yourself, go ahead. thank god steam has a refund policy.
So far I am really loving the flexibility and just the sheer amount of OPTIONS you have when it comes to customizing each run. So many elements and combinations to choose from. My only complaint so far is that Multiplayer doesn't work at all. I cannot create a game, and there are never any to join. :(
