This is my go-to game any time I just want some mindless VR fun. I don't know why I enjoy the core gameplay loop of searching for what is usually loose trash and mildly rotted food that I can recycle into mats for crafting useful stuff from the three workbenches back at camp while trying not to get bit by mildly dim-witted zombies, but I really do. My advice: only sprint when you really need to, not because you're trying to loot the whole map before the bells ring. Listen for the sound that signals you've holstered a weapon and if you don't hear it, check the ground for your weapon because you probably dropped it. Same with items dropped in the backpack. Carry backup weapons for when your primaries fail. Jambalaya FTW! PS. I played this game through first using the quest3 version, then the pcvr version on the quest3 through steamlink. You have to do a bit of tweaking to get the pcvr version to work with the quest3, and I never got the 'press-in left joystick to sprint' to work (...

User Reviews
I would like to change my recent review. It did take me a long while and a bunch of trial and error to get the game to a playable state. But let me tell you. It was absolutely worth it. One of the best VR games I have ever played in my life. I do wish they made it easier to get working out of the box but such is the reality of PCVR gaming lol. So yes I do recommend this game now so go buy buy buy!
One of the best VR stories you can play, almost a must have for VR users.
32.8 hrs on record (2nd/3rd playthrough) Didn’t care about The Walking Dead going in, but this was a great first exposure. Atmosphere is tense and scavenging to survive feels rewarding. Ammo scarcity pushes you toward melee/stealth — sometimes satisfying, often clunky. Blades bounce off, cleavers shove instead of cut, and that dim flashlight makes dark areas rough on the eyes. Exploration and survival loop is solid (6.5–7/10 immersion). Story is just “okay” — being called “Tourist” is whatever, and characters feel rushed. But the choices are fun, and being able to kill off characters like JB or Georgia when I didn’t like their direction was a highlight. Despite the flaws, the tension in dark areas, scavenging runs, and being outnumbered in fights make it worth playing at least once. I’m already on my second (maybe third) run. TL;DR: Janky melee, but tense and immersive. A must-play VR zombie survival experience.
excellent zombie fantasy the vr systems for interaction are great the only gripe is that guns wobble too much
Favorite zombie vr games I've ever played :)
I absolutely love this game, it gives you the choice to do pretty much whatever you want, and though the storyline is decently good, its still fun to just scavenge and survive, whether that be by taking what you want/need from others or exploring for your own supplies. It is pretty open world, it dose lightly guide you through the map abit, but there is still alleyways and houses, or backyards that make it feel alot more free roam and gives you the choice to do whatever you want. The only issue I do have with this game is that I play on a HTC Vive, and I think I can safely say thats a pretty good vr headset, and I have great internet, and a high end computer. But it is ALWAYS having glitches and issues even using just steam vr itself, though thats a different issue. In the game it freqeuntly is having problems with connection wich makes no sense because my internet is fine. My other slight problem is that it seems to not really like Vive controllers, so if you also play on Vive, my fi...
One of the best VR games I've played. But having zombies constantly respawn is super annoying. You kill one, turn around, and bam the same zombie respawned. Its just annoying.
Great VR game, it still holds up pretty well in 2025. Be warned, however, if you're using a Quest or Pico headset, this game will not work unless you have Virtual Desktop, as it won’t recognize your controllers correctly. Which is also why it doesn't display the 12 or so hours i spent in it on steam. It's fun to walk around the maps looking for usable supplies and organizing them in your safe house. The combat is kinda mid zombie AI just walks at you in a straight line (as expected), which isn’t that big of an issue. But the human AI is worse. They also just walk towards you without taking cover, showing zero regard for their own well being. This makes it really easy to shoot an entire group with a shotgun since they just bunch up, which really ruined immersion for me. The story is kinda whatever, and it’s very easy to forget what’s going on since a lot of it is just readable notes. However, the characters that do actually speak are very likeable. The game has a few side ques...
