About This Game

Play with friends as competing tribes who have the ability to build and destroy ground. Perform a ritual for the Summoning Circle, take control of an Offering, or sacrifice enemies into the Abyss!

Movement is a Double-Edged Sword

Players move and interact with each other through the ground. Building ground creates movement for you, but also for your enemies. Likewise, destroying ground inhibits movement for both you and your enemies.

Building & Destroying Ground

Every player has the ability to build and destroy the ground they walk on. Use your abilities to complete the objective, help teammates, and drop enemies. Then, curve your abilities to catch people off guard or detonate them early for impact!

Play with Friends, or Against Them!

Try out the 3 game modes and new ways to play Groundless: Ritual, Control, and Sacrifice!

Ritual (2v2): Teams capture the Summoning Circle and collect offerings to gain points
Control (free-for-all): Keep away a single offering from your competitors
Sacrifice (free-for-all): Compete against one another with a limited stock of lives

An extremely fun local multiplayer game with tons of replay value. The concept of fighting over ground is unique and satisfying to master.

I first played this at PAX East 2018. It is a pretty stright forward multiplayer game with a cool concept. Creating and removing ground is pretty fun to do. Great for local co-op. I only wish there was online play, but that is minor.

They have the kernel of a good mechanic here, but have not helped it grow into a good mechanic tree at all. Destroying the ground in front of someone doesn't accomplish much because they can just grow it right back, all that matters really is that you get direct hits so it's just a regular basic top down shooter with vaguely clunky weapons.

This game is a pretty fun and unique concept for a multiplayer game. However, there is simply not enough meat on its bones, especially considering the fairly high price tag.
