Hexen II is a dark fantasy first-person shooter and RPG developed by Raven Software and published by id Software in 1997. It is the third game in the Heretic/Hexen series and the epic conclusion to the Serpent Riders trilogy.

Story

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse lurk in the shadows before you. They are Death, Pestilence, Famine, and War. They are the root of all that is evil, but the least of your worries. The last of the three Serpent Riders, Eidolon, yet lives.

As the spellcasting Necromancer, the stealthy Assassin, the defensive Crusader, or the offensive Paladin, you must defeat the dark generals and their Hell-spawned legions before you can face the archfiend Eidolon and attempt to end his ravenous onslaught. Go in peace and you will surely die.

Play cooperatively with friends or fight them in a bloody deathmatch. Supports up to 16 players via LAN and online.

Recommending because the game is good, but this release has a lot of flaws: - No music - No expansion (cannot be bought anywhere else) - Won't start on Linux, requires the sourceport Hammer of Thyrion If you have the missing files, you can use them with the sourceport for best experience. The puzzles remind me a bit of La-Mulana, as you will get stuck, backtrack a lot and try different things. This is not a mindless shooter. Hope this gets a proper remaster in the future.

this is actually a great game, comes with nglide by default for 3dfx support, but for some reason neither music soundtrack works and theres no expansion. Hopefully nightdive will fix these problems one day.
