Wish they kept making Doom's like this
Imagine System Shock 2 but boring
who put resident evil in my doom? Anyway, I give this game a solid 7.5/10 Honestly it's pretty good. The story is kind of whatever, but the game itself is a lot of fun. Lots of jumpscares and whatnot, which makes it a completely different game compared to the original Doom's. The game doesn't unfortunately have a 16:9 setting for modern monitors but eh, it's alright. It's also capped to 60fps but the game ran pretty smooth. No crashes or other performance issues whatsoever. From what I've heard, the BFG edition is a big downgrade from the original in terms of the horror experience. I haven't played the BFG edition so I can't comment on that. But I definitely enjoyed the original/vanilla/whatever it's called Doom 3. The Resurrection of Evil and Lost Mission DLCs were also pretty enjoyable. [spoiler] And how exactly did I play Lost Mission without the BFG edition? Guess what, you can have your cake and eat it too. Just look up "Doom 3 Lost Mission mod" and go from there. G...
so scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaary
play at night with the volume up and the lights out
DOOM 3 in alot of ways is the black sheep of the franchise. It's a much more slower, darker and dread inducing game, I still get scared playing this with some moments nearly making me jump out of my seat genuinely. The lighting in the original still stands the test of time and definitely shows you don't need RT or Path Tracing to achieve these results, even the reflections are dead accurate to the scenery without any of these silly modern techniques required. The game is dated and it might be a hard game to like after playing the amazing 2016 reboot but don't let that stop you from enjoying the aspects this game gets right. It still feels like DOOM in alot of ways especially as you venture into the second half of the game + the amazing expansion which wraps up the DOOM 3 story nicely. I love DOOM 3, it is up there with all the other titles and is something not to be skipped over.
Very good, feels like half life with the horror cranked up a lot moreso than any other doom game. Gets repetitive towards the end, does some of its 'tricks' way too many times. Do not recommend playing on high difficulty because the game is very very cheap when it comes to damaging you - but thats fine usually because you'll be back to not health in no time after most fights
10/10 Doom Game. Scary at times, and lots of great gameplay, artstyle, and sounds. Lots of inspiration from Half Life, Paul W.S. Anderson's Resident Evil movie, and other survival horror games. The Plasma gun is one of the best feeling shooter guns.
Once upon a time there were 2 FPS games in competition. PC gamers all over the world waited as news came out about Gordon Freeman vs. The Space Marine. Which one would be released first? Which one would make more money? Which one would wow the critics and win the wallets of gamers 'round the world? Two FPS titans met in Mortal Kombat somewhere around 2003-04. Doom3 was widely available and anticipated. Half Life 2 required an internet connection. In this historic FPS competition Doom 3 emerges as MVP, Half Life 2 finishes as a Force of Nature. Both games are worthy, both fought tooth and nail to become great. Doom 3 achieved greatness. This detailed remake of the original game is imaginative and horrific! Complete with atmospheric shadows, sparks, and lights. The zombies are here, and the chainsaw! My fav thing about this game are the employee audio recordings of the invasion. Doom3 is a wonderful claustrophobic classic! I will always enjoy listening to the personal records of UAC e...
