ELEX II is a sprawling open-world RPG developed by Piranha Bytes that continues the legacy of its predecessor by blending sci-fi and fantasy elements into a unique and ambitious setting. The game invites players to explore a richly detailed post-apocalyptic world where advanced technology coexists with magic, crafting an unusual but fascinating atmosphere. As the sequel to ELEX, it retains much of the original’s complexity and depth while refining gameplay mechanics and expanding its narrative scope, making it a compelling, if occasionally rough-around-the-edges, experience for fans of deep RPGs. At the heart of ELEX II lies its vast and diverse open world, a planet called Magalan that offers players a wide range of biomes to explore, from icy mountains and dense forests to arid deserts and corrupted wastelands. The game world feels alive and reactive, with various factions competing for control and players’ choices having significant consequences on the world state and story prog...

I really liked ELEX for several reasons. The exploration was one of the strongest aspects of the game—roaming across a large, open world filled with varied environments, hidden secrets, and unexpected encounters always felt rewarding. The verticality and freedom of movement, especially with the jetpack, made exploring even more fun and unique. The battle system, while a bit clunky at first, grew on me over time. It offered enough challenge to stay engaging, and I appreciated the different combat styles and weapons you could choose from. Whether going melee, ranged, or using special abilities, there was room to tailor combat to your playstyle.
This game is fun - mostly because you can raise and lower the difficulty at any time... So, yeh - it sometimes feels like you are running away from a lot of fights. ...and I say to you "lower the difficulty, kill the ridiculously overpowered group of enemies, and then go back to the harder difficulty". Problem solved ;/
Loved the first Elex, the sequal has the same good gameplay RPG, Choices matter and rich story. Got my vote of approval and I look forward to saving the world again as Jax!
It stopped launching. I haven't used any mods. It throws an error "sorry it crashed". Piece of junk :)

All is ok but bosses :)
3.5/10 Clunky, unstable and unbalanced combat system, too much unnecessary dialog that doesn't even come close to Gothic 1 & 2. (The story is unbelievably bad, the cut scenes are comically hilarious.) Let's be honest for a second here!!! Michael "Mike" Hoge was Gothic and the main brain in Piranha Bytes when it comes to game design and world building, he was literally the face of our hero. When he left the studio, he took with him the humor and the entirety of the games personality. And what was left of Piranha Bytes tried to copy Gothic 1 & 2 over and over again, but as they say: "Good artists copy, Great artists steal... and make it their own."
