About This Game

Challenging block-pushing puzzle game, where the aim is to connect together all blocks of the same color. Navigate locks, conveyors, lasers, and other obstacles, amid fiendishly designed levels and contraptions. 75% completion will hand you victory; complete the game in its entirety to join the Hall of Push Blox Masters.

Features:

- Hand-made puzzles
- Gradually increasing difficulty from simple to deep
- A relaxing, original guitar soundtrack
- Sleek, minimalist interface

Controls:

WASD or cursors to move; Z or Backspace to undo; F to toggle windowed play/full-screen; SPACE to run.

Note from developer:

There is a minor real-time element that does not result in any dexterity challenge or timing difficulties. This is a warning here in case you can't tolerate any timing in your puzzle games - no matter how oblique and secondary they are to the actual puzzles in the present case. If you are such a person I would still recommend you play the game, but you have been given fair warning!

20 hrs to 100% and about 3 moments across 3 days where I almost gave up on
39C
.Even if the game was $20, it'd be worth it.

Quite good! I haven't completed enough yet but already can say that this game is very nice! I'm glad that Steam recommended me it!

Push Blox was good, and Push Blox 2 is fantastic. It has better level design, and fixes the biggest shortcoming of the previous title by implementing a branching rather than linear level progression. So for most of the game, you have multiple levels to choose from. Once again, the level design is a highlight; and this time it can hold its own against the best in the genre, like qrostar titles or DROD. That's partly because Push Blox 2 is more difficult than the prequel, which spent more time on teaching basic mechanics and thus had more tutorial-ish levels; partly because it just contains more levels (~41 vs. ~35); but mostly because the act of solving a level is now clearly a multi-step process, so each level is effectively more than just one puzzle. For instance, it's fascinating how even just "reading" the levels is a real challenge, even though they often consist of few blocks. And while the normal levels were already great, the Hard world levels are *amazing* in terms of how many...

One of the best hidden gems. If you enjoy logic puzzles, this one is brilliant. Some real barn burners in the second half of the game.

Very simple, yet really exciting. You really have to push your brain to solve the blox. Haha, get it?

Usually I finish a game before reviewing, but since I expect to be poking away at the harder puzzles in Push Blox 2 for quite a while I thought I'd drop a quick recommendation now. Puzzle design is the star of this show, with simple elements combined in elegant and original ways. The solving process feels like exploring some unknown piece of clockwork, working out the function of each detail of the design. It really tickles the part of the brain that likes fitting shapes. Because the core mechanic has you linking blocks of the same color, there's a similar dynamic to Snakebird where you first work out the shape you need for some aspect of a puzzle, then work out how you could build that shape with the constraints at hand. As the description mentions, this is a challenging game. Puzzles revolve around a small number of large realizations, not constant chipping away in the manner of a Hexcells or Picross. So really the only puzzle fan I wouldn't recommend Push Blox 2 to is an impatient ...

Really fun but challenging puzzle game. The mechanics felt really simple and intuitive but I was impressed at how much variety the puzzles had. There are plenty of intricate constructions that felt really satisfying to find. The music was also relaxing and I think it fit the game well, sometimes I would just have the game on in the background so I can listen to the music. You will not be disappointed :)

Puzzle game reminiscent of games by Qrostar. With a quite simple design space the game is able to build interesting contraption like puzzles.

If you like challenging puzzle games, you should give this game a try. There are just a handful of simple mechanics, and the puzzles in the game are all pretty unique in their solution, i.e. no "filler" content. I also like that the level select screen usually has a few active levels to choose from, so if you get stuck on a puzzle (and you probably will) you can try another one and come back to it later.

Don't let the simplistic visual style fool you.. this game is GOLD!! Push Blox 1/2 are probably some of my favorite puzzle games ever. The kind of game you get stuck on some level trying over complicated solution for hours and then at some random time (like doing the dishes/shower/etc) you will come up with a solution and will turn on your computer just to try. My only complaint of this game is the guitar playing is not very great in one of the songs (level 34 iirc.. i think this song wasnt on PB1). Nonetheless, I loved every minute playing it. Devs, please make more!!
