Video (gameplay + commentary):
https://youtu.be/NZNzkn6cBnI
Review:
Tight twinstick frenetic action roguelite that reminds me of games like Enter the Gungeon and Binding of Isaac. Easily recommended! This game has solid and precise mouse/keyboard controls, a catchy soundtrack, uniformly beautiful pixel art and animation, and most of all, a fun game loop. You're basically a psychotic road runner that invades dreams and beats up cute and adorable stuff, which you accomplish with your fists or with one of a few different ranged weapons including a boomerang, crossbow, hookshot, magical orb, and more. You amass feathers (your currency) which allows you to permanently unlock each ranged weapon. If you die, you have to start all over and try again. It has the right amount of punishment as your skill grows and clearing stages will seem easier over time. Between levels, you are also able to select from randomized perks that will assist each run. About This Game

For too long Skeletons have been on the blunt force receiving end. Give them a break and time to recover by embracing the power of the darkness.
Night of the Blood Moon is a difficult Rogue-lite with unique weapons, and charming manifestations. Become the Nightmare and grow your power, by conquering many imaginative lands, and defeat bosses who will challenge your strategy along side your skill.
The Setting of Night of the Blood Moon
The eclipse is coming, and the blood moon is upon us. It is time for the Three Eyed Raven to rise. From Bedrooms to Castles in the Sky you will control a nightmare and it's arsenal of pets, weapons, and skills. In thde land of dreams creatures take on many forms such as; of instruments, wizards, ninjas, and sea monsters, and more.Weapons
Night of the Blood Moon's weapons are more than guns with different attributes. They will completely change the way you play the game, by how you position yourself, and which enemies pose the most threat. Hookshots, Boomerangs, and Spellbooks are the beginning of a growing inventory. Learn to utilize each weapon to reach the true-end.The Dreamy Manifestations
Enemies in Night of the Blood Moon work on an orthogonal structure. They vary with speed and range on a full spectrum. Each level in the game has unique creatures which test you in their own ways. Things aren't always as they seem in our dreams, especially these critters.Bosses in Night of the Blood Moon are more than just bullet sponges; Each boss has mechanics which can be overcome through trial & error, and understanding.
Pets
You'll come across assistance in your escapades. These pets will give you increased attributes as well as passive support. Pets are dreams consumed by the darkness including bats, dogs, nests, and more.Dev Note: I plan on adding at least one pet each month of 2019 for Night of the Blood Moon, and am looking forward to getting more creative with more time on my hands.
Eclipse Mode
This mode lets you start with nothing, and get stronger until you the engine can't keep up. There are currently no limitations.Buy health, ammo, and unleash a flurry of weapons. Eclipse Mode is my way of letting you destroy the game I worked so hard to build whilst having absolute fun.
For Non-Ubuntu Linux users: GameMaker (the engine used) only supports 32-bit graphics for some reason (which Ubuntu supports out of box). From what I've come to understand here are the required fixes:
install lib32-openssl or openssl:i386 (depend of your system), and Properties -> Set launch options and LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. %command%
Night of the Blood Moon is a game I am incredibly proud of, and excited to share with everyone. Above all I hope you are challenged in a fun and enjoyable way. I'm looking forward to seeing you kick Night of the Blood Moon's butt. Good luck, and have fun.

This is a neat roguelite, feels pretty similar to Nuclear Throne ( albeit, in 60 fps, and in 16:9 ) you control a single character, mainly using a melee weapon, and one other weapon you choose at the start of your run. you earn currency to unlockmore weps, and in the runs themselves, you earn skill points; which can be used to upgrade your secondary weapon, and add skills ( which are randomized every run ) I like the look, the pixel work is pretty cute~ *EDIT * Game was KB+M only, dev added controller support very quickly ^^b being in early access , you can expect the game to improve - and it's already pretty charming and fun as-is. worth a poke if you're into nuclear throne style games ~
It is a nice looking game, and the controls are not bad, but it seems to be abandonware. The upgrade window between levels says "in development" all of the leaderboard features say "coming soon" and even the wiki button in main menu takes you to 404 page. I probably wouldn't pay the full price even though it is cheap, unless you have beaten all the other similar games already.
I think that "rogue-lite" is really starting to be overused. This is a decent game, I guess, but I just didn't find it to have much depth. Just having procgen layouts of levels isn't enough for me. The art style is cool, but I felt like it was just a twin-stick shooter with an upgrade system, and I felt like I had seen everything the game was going to offer after about 20 minutes. It most reminded me of the kind of flash games I used to play on Kongregate. Decent enough, but not something I would buy again.
It's great! The sprites and animations are very beautiful and clean Every enemy and it's variations are very easy to identify Every weapon changes completely how you play and is great for replayability Absolutely love the music Controls for mouse and keyboard are very intuitive and solid (Have yet to try it with a controller) Can't wait for it to have a fully functional stats and leaderboard system
A great solo Dev title that, while definitely rough around the edges, shows a lot of promise and is a great example of what more can be innovated in the more traditional rogue like space. If you are a fan of difficult but condensed rogue games like Monolith, Wizard of Legend, or Nuclear Throne then you'll find something here you like.
fun but challenging short rounds of running around killing things to get powerups and upgrades and i don't really even know what the story was supposed to be about because it's frantic fast paced fun :] a little excitement when you're bored and don't want to spend a lot of time playing
Fun little Game. Not really anyting bad about it. The controls are responsive, the artstyle is nice, the enemies are creative and otherwise it is a rocksolid game. Really good game for a quick round.
A fun rouge-lite with lots of potential. I will be playing more and I look forward to seeing where the developer takes the game.
10/10 would recommend worth 5 dollars very fun and yes idk how to write a review
