About This Game

And so the Exodus began… after a war that lasted only 83 days, Earth has been reduced to a nuclear wasteland. Nine factions fled the planet in search of a new home among the stars. Only six survived the journey before encountering the Centaurians, an advanced alien race, who guided the remains of humanity to safety in the Proxima Centauri star system.

Now each faction vies for control, exploiting resources and Centaurian technologies, and battling each other to become the leader of the next chapter for the human race.

In Exodus: Proxima Centauri, you will take command of one of these 6-factions, making tactical decisions for the advancement of your fledgling empire. The game progresses through a series of turns, where players fight for control of vital planets and resources. Players fulfill the role of explorer, colonizer, politician, and military commander, before ultimately a victor is declared - the next leader of human kind.

Exodus: Proxima Centauri is a 4X game, including elements of eXploration, eXpansion, eXploitation, and eXtermination. It is adapted from the original board game created by NSKN games.

This is a solid port of one of the best 4X board games available; this port towers above the computer adaptation of Eclipse. Highly recommended for fans of Exodus specifically or strategic "eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate" (4X) games in general.

Coming at this from the original version: I've got the physical board game, KS'd both expansions. Love the series, so I'm biased. This scratches the boardgame itch completely - it's a great representation! For players new to the game, like most 4x games, there's a lot to take in, but the way things are displayed and work out seems to make sense. You can access the boardgame's rules online for a MUCH more thorough understanding (search for it on boardgamegeek.com or nskn's website). While the tutorial might not explain everything, it's a work in progress and completely worth the effort. If the video game does you well, the board game is great for getting a group of friends involved in the physical realm. Highly recommend both!

A really good digital version of a really good tabletop board game. No loading or downtime. I hope the expansions gets added sometime in the future.

I am a board game fan but never played this game orginally. So,I cannot say if this is a faithful representation of the game but others seem to think it is. For my part, it is a very clever game that requires good tactical and strategic thinking. Some have commented that the AI is not world-beating but I don't like playing against AI in board games - the real value is in multiplayer. This has a good asynchronous turn based set-up that allows 24 hours between turns. The game itself is not as neatly structured to allow for you to conduct a lot in your turn before passing the baton (like Through the Ages for example) so it is a bit stop/start on the multi-player turn model but no reason why you cannot have multiple games on the go. Online numbers are small at the moment which is a shame as this is a very clever game and as someone who would like to see more board games come to the PC, one I think deserves much more support. Getting 4-6 like-minded people to play games like this is diffi...

After a couple of tries, I can't see any real appeal to this game, the tutorial, just kinds of drops you off, and says go learn. The interface was off screen a few times leaving me know way to move things or upgrade my ships. A very underwhelming release, while I have no doubt that the game is good, I think a little more polish to the game would make it a 20$ CAD game. This caliber in my mind would be less than 10$.

The board game version is fun. This digitial version is only fun with friends. The AI is almost not there doing stupid things. Playing asynchronous MP is pain in the ass. if you not respond within 24h someone can tell the AI to do a move. And this will be a stupid one of course... the AI. If you play 4-5 players in asynchronous MP prepare to do a move every 2 to 3 days. And dont forgett to do your move within 24h. At least there is an E-Mail notification. Needs way better AI. As it is right now it is a pure MP game with friends (so that you can play fast)

I hope this review will open the eyes for devs. As an owner of the board game with the first expansion, I am missing a lot of things. The game itself is a great adoption, but i just feel when playing that it is not finished yet and not worth the mony i give to purches it. You can't customize the map, AI are super easy (not challenging at all, if at least they were more aggressive), then I can't change colors for myself or the position the map is alway the same....well that sux. The multiplayer games are lame, playing a game for weeks and still on turn 1 lol and you can't even quite the game that is in progres huray!! :/ I still think the game has a massive potential and it looks great but so many things are not there that should be, I think that devs rushed the game and stopped updating the PC version and are now focusing on the mobile version 2 much. So yeah i wouldn't recommend the game untill it is finished and polished, just not worth the mony at this point. P.S: If devs are readi...

Being new to this game, I really like what I see. The game itself is solid, only the AI can use an upgrade: it is to easily beaten. Looking forward to a larger player base, so more online multiplayer games can be played.
