About This Game

Capsule is a challenging VR escape game developed for the HTC Vive and Valve Index. It is set in a fictional 1982 and takes place in a fallout bunker following a nuclear attack. Explore the environment, examine items and solve puzzles in order to leave the bunker in time to be rescued. Throughout the bunker the player can find audio tapes, recorded previously by the character that they are assuming during game play, that offer insight pertaining to the situation they are currently in. Capsule is designed to be played best at room scale where players navigate by a simple teleport mechanic. Controls are minimal and, overall, game play is designed to be intuitive and immersive allowing the player to focus on the environment around them. The solutions to the puzzles in the game are randomized, so that the player wont be able to simply remember combinations and solutions from their last play through, this ensures that subsequent play-throughs and speed-run achievements retain a certain level of challenge.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/41jYrq5d8UA Is this game worth .99 cents (Steam sale price)? Yes. Absolutely. This game is a great deal at that price. This is a perfect puzzle escape room for VR puzzle beginners or casuals. I think Intermediate puzzle players would also enjoy this. It's at the right difficulty so that most people would enjoy it, except hardcore puzzle veterans. The game looks absolutely beautiful. It's running on the Unreal Engine. Even on my 1060 GTX, it was running at a steady 90 frames per second on the medium graphical setting. There is only teleportation. There is no smooth or snap turning. While the graphics are amazing, the sound work doesn't quite match up. You'll also clip through objects. You can pick up most (not all) items, but only a few interact in any meaningful way. The game ran smoothly and I experienced zero bugs. Although the Oculus Rift isn't supported, the only issue I found on t...

Took me ~25min to complete it. Some sfx are missing like opening doors and the like, its a bit too silent at times, the music helps. Good graphics, very good performance. Puzzles have logical solutions, there are no supernatural aspects or scares. Over all a good escape the room game, puzzles work, audio cassettes sound good, i liked the voice acting. I enjoyed my playthrough, it wasnt super simple, but it wasnt frustrating, so id say spot on difficulty.

Update: I bought this game AGAIN hoping the walkthrough would help. The sound kept going out during the game. Since it's highly dependent upon sound, I would go back to the save files only to find one was just a black screen. I went back to a different save, one from May and then one from today and sound is back but THE FREAKING BLOCKS ARE GONE. GONE!!!!!! This is literally the most frustrating VR game I have ever played. Even at $1 it is too much. There's not even a video playthrough so I can see what happens at the end. I regret ever even seeing this game in Explore. RUN AWAY FROM THIS GAME

Not finished development and extremely frustrating to play, even for $4.50. The game itself is fairly short (I presume), but enjoyable. However, I've never been able to actually finish it, despite almost completing it five or six times. Always the collision detection, clipping, or something mucks up, and I manage to fumble an important object (door key, flare gun, wooden cube) so that it completely dissappears and is lost forever. (I'm on an Vive Pro setup, and don't have issues with other games.) I've made it to the dock, but as the flare gun is gone from any area I can reach, and never respawns, I'm just stuck. After the first two times this happened I tried to be methodical and save after handling each item and solving each puzzle in sequence. Turns out that the restore feature apparently doesn't cover things like the position of the cube objects, and if the savefile has the drawer open then (I'm guessing) the cube restores to the closed position and promptly falls permanentl...

I thought Capsule was a very snug but cozy space to solve different puzzles. The visuals and item placement in the VR world are well done. It is a pretty short game, First playthrough took me about 20 minutes. Second playthrough took 5 minutes and 20 seconds. Third playthrough I hit 2 minutes and 47 seconds. So while there is repeatability and the puzzles solutions do change, it doesn't add much more to warrant additional time spent. One of the biggest problems this game has is its broken achievement, "Fan Club". This achievement is meant to be awarded to players who have successfully listened to all 6 cassette tapes throughout their game play. It simply is broken and does not unlock no matter which order you play the tapes in. Due to this and the developer having apparently abandoning it without updates, I strongly recommend against playing this game if you like are like me and demand functional achievements, because the game cannot be finished 100% (Complete all achievements) wit...

tldr: just buy it. Played using Oculus Quest 2 via link cable. Worked fine. I don't know what the other reviewers with negative comments are talking about. Most of the VR Escape rooms out their are just plain junk. Either they aren't really made for VR, or are frustrating in other ways that have nothing to do with the puzzles themselves. IMHO, this should be priced at at least $5 if not a bit more. To get a better experience for 30-60 minutes, you'll have to spend a lot more. As another reviewer said, what you get is exactly what is promised, and maybe a bit more.

Exactly what it says on the tin. A short and sweet little escape room with very nice graphics and atmosphere. The puzzles are not that challenging but they are creative, although I did find some of them a bit nonsensical. If you enjoy escape rooms IRL this is a pretty good choice, especially if you manage to catch it on sale.

Nice little escape room game - it's short and finished in less than an hour. Recommend but only on sale.

Played on HTC Vive Pro/Vive controllers/RTX2060Super, It's a pretty solid and not so hard escaperoom game. The atmosphere is good, the graphics are great and the puzzles aren't that hard. It's not a really long game, but I got it on sale for 0,79 euro's and it's certainly it's money's worth. Looking forward to playing more games from this developer.
