About This Game

Note to WMR users

Although RUMBLE is fully playable with a Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) headset, not all of those headsets provide an optimal gameplay experience. We have made a forum post with more information as to which WMR headsets we recommend for playing RUMBLE.

About the Game

WELCOME TO RUMBLE!

Instead of with button inputs, this multiplayer VR fighting game is played by performing martial arts-inspired movements. RUMBLE has a heavy focus on practise and repetition, on getting good. You won’t be a master on day one, but keep fighting, keep learning, and one day you will be.

RUMBLE'S ACTION

In RUMBLE you will find many moves to master! Each move you learn has its own unique effect, and you can combine the effects of different moves by performing them in a combo to create your own unique attacks!

You can perform a move by striking the martial arts inspired pose that is tied to the move you want to use. By chaining poses together you can perform multiple moves back to back, combining their effects to form a move combo! The faster you become the more complex your combos can be, allowing for more unique and creative ways to attack your opponent and defend yourself.

Our community has already taken RUMBLE’s combat mechanics further than we imagined, expanded the boundaries of what was thought possible several times over. How far will you push the envelope, what new tech will you discover?

ONLINE PLAY

  • INTENSE ARENA COMBAT

Engage in 1 on 1 duels with other players in the Arena! Playing in the Arena will reward you with Battle Points, collecting these will unlock new moves for you to use in combat. In addition to Battle Points, you’ll also be granted Gear Coins; which you can trade in to unlock new gear for your character to wear!

  • MULTIPLAYER PHYSICS SANDBOX

Park Sessions allow for up to 6 fighters to play together! There’s plenty of space to experiment with physics and performing moves, there are mini-games to play, and even some toys scattered all around the place with which you can set up your own minigames.

  • DISCORD COMMUNITY

Our RUMBLE Discord Community server has grown quite a bit since launch! With over 10K members it’s an excellent place for finding people to play with, asking questions about the game, or even communicating directly with us, the developers!

Here’s your invitation:

MORE FEATURES

  • CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION

By fighting in the Arena, you earn Gear Coins, which you can use to unlock new customization options for your character. You can edit many parts of your character individually to truly make yourself stand out. From your smile to your boots to the sparkle in your eyes, it’s all up to you!

  • OFFLINE TRAINING EQUIPMENT

While RUMBLE is primarily an online experience, there are some tools with which you can interact when you’re not feeling particularly sociable. There’s a sparring bot name Howard you can use to practice your combat skills in an offline setting, there’s the Pose Ghost that can show and teach you how to perform any of RUMBLE’s moves, and you can host private Park sessions to play with any of the toys you can find there.

  • THE ROCK CAM

An in-game camera tool with which you can effortlessly take screenshots and record gameplay footage!

Built with the LIV Creator Kit, it’s an excellent tool for anyone looking to create any kind of RUMBLE content. The cameras are networked too, other players can see and hear you using your Rock Cam, and if they’re feeling particularly mischievous they might even try to take it from you!

  • CROSS-PLATFORM PLAY & FRIEND SYSTEM

RUMBLE can be played across several platforms, but regardless of where you own it, you will be able to play with friends and strangers playing on other platforms.

Either set up an Arena fight with a single friend, or hang out in the Park with up to 5 others!

Right now the game is only available on Steam and on the PCVR Meta store, but when the game launches on standalone VR devices later this year, this feature will ensure nobody has to miss out on any parts of RUMBLE’s amazing community.

This is the game that I will be playing every day for the rest of my life. This is a workout session disguised as a very fun rock throwing game. I used to practice martial arts in real life, and this game is the next best thing to that. It is an art form. If you're someone who has no delusions of grandeur and can take getting absolutely trash-compacted by somebody in a match, there's a 95% chance that that same rock god will volunteer to teach you a new skill in the very next match. Everyone in this community is a gem. I love rock game.

I'm sorry, but the controls ruin it for me. The amount of accuracy required to do something as simple as punching a rock, where if your fist isn't rotated the exact degree that the game wants it doesn't register, is quite frankly too obnoxious to deal with for someone who just wants to pelt people with large rocks. The tutorial is... I'm going to be blunt, it's pretty bad. At the very LEAST tell me where to go in the hubworld to find the inputs, instead of making me hunt through a dozen some odd popups to figure out what I'm even supposed to be doing. I'd rather just have a popup on the side of my screen than have to hunt down a physical quest list somewhere in the actual hubworld. And the pose ghosts aren't great for much other than vaguely telling you what your pose is SUPPOSED to look like; I could be doing the exact same pose at the exact same speed as them and still nothing would happen.

The game has the Single-Player tag when it really shouldn't. It's PVP only and it's not clearly communicated on the store page. That major issue aside, the gameplay COULD be fun, but you have to match the motions EXACTLY otherwise the skill won't trigger. Hard pass for me.

This is one of my favorite games ever made, getting good at RUMBLE is more fun and rewarding than any other videogame. Playing this is what I imagine being really good at a martial art feels like. However, that requires you to get good, and RUMBLE has a very high skill floor since no other game plays like RUMBLE. This, combined with being currently PCVR only (quest coming soon!) and not having a matchmaking system (the devs have said that they're looking at this!) has led to very low player counts. During peak hours I see an average of about 15 people in my region (west coast NA :/), and during off hours there usually aren't any. Definitely take a look at some tournaments on youtube like RUMBLE Kai or the Magic Missile to see what kind of potential this game has and hopefully you'll get obsessed like I did. But if you're not patient enough to handle the low player count and the difficulty of starting out, unfortunately this game might not be for you. Still try it out maybe though? Plea...

Great community, unique mechanics with all actions being done from posing instead of buttons. Refunding due to learning curve, I could not manage to consistently perform any moves (other then running). Pure skill issue.

Too strict with the arm and hand placements and it takes the "fun" out of the game. I always jump back in to see if they want us to have fun but not yet.
