About This Game

Welcome, Recruit. Station Commanders around the universe are running into all sorts of problems with their starbases. Embark on a journey to help manage their resources, optimise station layouts, and defend civilians from life threatening dangers. Are you up to the challenge?

Starport Delta is a light strategy game that challenges veterans, yet is approachable for newcomers. The game’s campaign mode teaches you the basics, while sandbox mode allows you to aim for the stars. The aim is to survive, so make sure to keep an eye on those resources!

Developed by Cloudfire Studios, a two-person team from New Zealand, Starport Delta is always growing. The team is always happy to listen and respond to ideas from the community via Steam or the official .

Currently Featuring:

Space dangers

Get ready to take on meteor showers, alien pirates, giant space worms and more! Each of these perilous challenges requires their own unique solution, so make sure to build accordingly, or you may lose more than you bargained for.

Engaging campaign

With understaffed stations and negligent Commanders, it’s a wonder the Empire didn’t call you in sooner! Move from system to system, troubleshooting station problems as you go. Supply resources, cull unneeded expansions and ensure sustainable growth before warping to the next system.

Diverse Voices

With a total cast of 15, Starport Delta features incredible talent from around the world. As you play through the campaign, you’ll encounter beings from every corner of the galaxy. Each character has their own tale to share, their own struggles they must face. Listen to their journeys, learn from their mistakes, and you just might help them along the way.

Sandbox Mode

Take your time and explore all that the galaxy has to offer in Zen Mode. Build at your own pace, upgrading and expanding your space city as you go. Or perhaps you’re looking for something a bit more challenging? Try out Hard Mode, where we throw all of the perils of the game your way and it’s up to you to survive.

Unique upgrades

Upgrades to your station happen organically through proximity. Grouping three power plants in a cluster will supply a larger area with power and require less maintenance, as well as linking together their structural integrity. Design your own unique station layouts by exploring the variety of different upgrades and the impact they each have.

I saw this game at PAX, played it and couldn't wait for it to come it. The premise was super fun. Unfortunately, I am putting the game down fairly quickly and not making plans to return. I can't play above regular speed because money and resources aren't calculated correctly. Despite positive indicators, as days pass, the amounts decline. When I pause the game, ships still attack my buildings and destroy them. Money and resource yielding is frustrating. Yields aren't calculated at the end of the turn, but rather have the timing on the turn based on when they are built. Have $500 with positive cashflow? Guess what, you just got charged $510 and the AI sold a building in an unknown location to repay the debt. While I understand why calculations might be done this way, in practice it made it too frustrating to manage resource flows.

At first I was like "yay tutorial! This is awesome!" And then I was like "there is no time control, this is slow and tedious!" I skipped tutorial 2 to go direct to single player mode. Slow. Then I went to sandbox mode. Also slow, but unlocks more buildings. Eh, trying out new games is fun, but this one didn't hold my interest.

It feels "full release" in terms of polish but "early access" in terms of content. It kind of feels like a more bug-free but bare-bones Stellaris with slightly cooler graphics. Events are entirely just "Rescue" or "Airlock" or stuff that damages your base if you're unlucky or built ineffectively. If there was more content with more variety this game would be amazing, but it's not right now.

Though there are some bugs to work out which they have been more than responsive to the community it's a good game if you are looking to just chill and build a space station probably not the game for you there is a learning curve so plan on restarting 10 times or so before you get the hang of it Just spent a few hours in Zen sandbox I would say play around in there if you are having issues with the mechanics of the game that way there is not the stress of the events that will destroy your whole station if you are left unprepared This has been on my wish list for a good while I would like to see a bit more content such as more buildings, research, ect. but it was worth the more i paid for it and has kept me entertained it was just lunched so some bugs and issues are expected

This product feels more like in early release than a completed game. In this game you can build a total of 8 types of buildings, buildings is built in a hex tile (similar to civ). You NEED a minimum of 7 types of buildings; divided into +population and +metal (mine). So in this game you can either build housing to increase population (which increases $), or increase metal via mine. That is all to it. Every once a while (on a timer), there will be meteor shower and space pirates. This will generate space rubbish in which one of the 7 buildings will slowly clean up the rubbish. This makes expansion or building new buildings a big hassle, as by the time the rubbish is cleared, a new batch of rubbish will form making people who like to plan their cities like Cities skyline or simcity feeling very very annoyed. Good: - Under the impression this is a space port sim (which isnt) Bad: - Tried to get refund - failed - Annoying and very tedious process to build buildings - Only 2 main building...

9/10 - The tutorial was very easy to understand and surprisingly short but informative for such an advanced game. One of my favourite features would have to be the air lock mechanic where players can get rid of security threats by throwing people, infestation and radioactive material out the air lock instead of removing them in a professional manner. I wish more city builders had more small comedic moments like this. One thing I would like to see in Starport Delta going forward is the implementation of a major pop-up that tells you what building was destroyed when buildings automatically get removed to save cash. I'm sure the devs will continue to do a great job and improve the game.

Please watch You Tube or Twitch to see if you like what you see before you buy, I think people are buying the game and jumping into sandbox, getting hammered then leaving a negative review. I played most of the campaign which makes for a pretty good tutorial, and it still took a while to get the hang of sandbox, but very rewarding when you do. The Devs are working hard at updating the game and are active on discord, will not be surprised if this game becomes a classic like Sim City.

Simple, tedious, and unengaging. It feels more like a mobile game than anything else. There's very little context provided, and the tool tips are basically worthless.

Came across this gem of a game while browsing the store during Covid lockdown and while it's not my usual type of game I found myself really enjoying it! Visuals are great and love the audio so much, it really adds a whole extra layer to what i can already see becoming my new addiction....(sorry wifey!) Admittedly it did take a few goes to start getting the hang of things (remember to build shields people) and had to restart more than once but getting better now :) Devs are doing a fantastic job of listening to all the feedback, even if some of it is overly harsh and have already implemented changes, definitely looking forward to putting in some more hours.

EDIT: I've come to realize this game has much more depth than I originally thought. There's not a right way to do things, but there is a way to do things right. Lots of variables in the way you design the space station but you still have to balance your economy -v- growth. Don't be afraid to disassemble some buildings if necessary, especially when starting a scenario that has a pre-made spaceport. I'm looking at you Scenario 4 of the campaign. This is a great game with great dev's. I'm not sure where the negative reviews are coming form. Certainly there's a learning curve, but not one that's all that difficult to "flatten" out. The Dev's are on the discord channel to answer questions if you need help and take feedback on the game. Graphics are great, just make sure you adjust the gamma to suit your taste. There is much sarcasm and silliness from the AI computer and the trainer who will guide you through the tutorial. Mostly directed to an NPC who is promoted beyond his ...
