About the Game

Absinth is a psychological horror-thriller by indie developer blackHound Studios. Explore the chilling world of Zane Zaminsky and discover the unsettling events of his past.

It is a weekend in late July 2018 when Zane visits the US California Redwoods only to disappear without a trace shortly after arrival. Two days later, the local Police Department locates Zane on the main road near the Redwoods after receiving an anonymous tip. Chief Inspector Carter opens the investigation a few hours later, only to discover that not only does Zane have no recollection of the past two days, but the fact that he has a daughter has been completely wiped from his memory. As the investigation unfolds, more and more clues surface to suggest Zane’s past hides more than just the answer to his amnesia.

Experience what happened to Zane and how his life changed overnight. Hide from the unknown and try to distinguish between reality and illusion. Solve dimension-unraveling riddles to reach your targets and uncover the intrigue which brought Zane’s life to ruin. Decipher secret documents to expose the truth and win against your own mind to survive. Use the innovative AR glass to analyze your environment and constantly find new ways to avoid the encounter with the devious AI.

Absinth takes you to a world of fear, darkness, and loss, but also hope. The duplicitous presentation of scenes combined with the classic dark atmosphere will have your emotions twisted and in a constant state of heightened adrenaline. Experience unique storytelling and the innovative machinations of Absinth from a real indie developer studio in a way you’ve never played before.

Well this game simply would not stop buttfucking my computer! I made my CPU usage go to 100%! I play a lot of games...okay, and let me tell you, I can run all of them smoothly, this game should've been no exception! However, the poor optimization simply was too much, and I couldn't even get past the intro, what a shame! I highly recommend the devs fix this game breaking problem right away, otherwise no one will be able to enjoy what truly could be a masterpiece. We may never know!

This game has some potential. Currently you can’t complete the story because not all Levels are released yet but the story seems interesting so far. Some mandatory codes or keys are hidden in places where I just walked by and at the 100th time I finally noticed them… this gave me such facepalm moments… Interesting glasses in the second level. I hope they also find its purpose in the coming levels!

Buy this game If you like l\/l4TH3MATICS According to the daily news paper i read in this game Canadas moose population is increasing overlapping in the states. The article said Canadas gross Moose production will attain 700 000 maintaining its WorldWide Moose Production Dominance over Chinas 60 000 gross production. WTF!? If you click on the laptop in-game you get logged out to your browser and it says your are being hacked lol. Then you have to figure out the pass code to the door. This is when your math riddle skillz come in to play. If anyone has the code please post it in the forums. Thanks.

Nice game with some grave math puzzles. I kinda had some troubles to stream with OBS in parallel but after adjusting the graphics it worked pretty well.

So I just finished the first level and I really liked it! What I liked the most was the riddle with the laptop. This really blew my mind, since I never expected that 4th dimension riddle. So of course the game needs some more polishing and it still has some bugs, but to be fair it´s still a quite new game in early access so I´m really looking forward on what the studio will make out of this game at the end. Most horror games I played latley had a weak story and were not really story driven, but it seems like absinth has a solid story and is story based.. This is the most important thing for me as gamer, since I just love a good solid story in horror games and this is what lets me keep me playing a game at the end of the day. So keep it up!

In this game you have a daughter called Absynth, but I felt like I was was the one with alcohol poisoning. Game starts out promising then delivers you a MATH PUZZLE! I wanted to be scared in this horror game BUT NOT THAT SCARED!!!!! Then there were terrible frame rate issues alongside a constantly blaring siren. If that's your thing pick up this game, otherwise AVOID AT ALL COSTS! (especially the $10 cost the developers are charging, hahaha)

Off to a great start for a puzzle / horror game. It's simple yet challenging, although one part really bothered me because it was a little too random but I've already been told that there will be an update to adjust the puzzle, which was music to my ears! Devs that notice and cared when I expressed an opinion, This is still in early acess and there is a lot of potential to be had here, I'm excited to see where it goes! There was only a little bit of story so far but I'm already sucked in and can't wait for the next chapters to come out, who is Absinth?!
