About This Game

Noita is a magical action roguelite set in a world where every pixel is physically simulated. Fight, explore, melt, burn, freeze and evaporate your way through the procedurally generated world using spells you've created yourself. Explore a variety of environments ranging from coal mines to freezing wastelands while delving deeper in search for unknown mysteries.

  • Pixel-based physics: Every pixel in the world is simulated. Burn, explode or melt anything. Swim in the blood of your foes! Enter a simulated world that is more interactive than anything you've seen before.

  • Your own magic: Combine spells to create your own magic as you delve deeper into the caverns. Use magic to crush your enemies and manipulate the world around you.

  • Procedurally generated world: Explore a unique world every time you play. Discover new environments as you adventure deeper.

  • Action roguelite: Death is permanent and always a looming threat. When you die, don’t despair, use what you’ve learned to get further on your next adventure.

Noita is being developed by Nolla Games, a company set up by 3 indie developers, all of whom have worked on their own projects in the past.

The three gents in question are:

Petri Purho
Petri is best known as the creator of Crayon Physics Deluxe. In his youth he also made a lot tiny freeware games. He has also made a bunch of board games, but he hasn't told about it to anyone. So please keep it a secret.

Olli Harjola
Olli is known for the award-winning, mind-bending sci-fi puzzler The Swapper. Besides indie games, he also dabbles in music, live visuals and making programming languages.

Arvi Teikari
Arvi is also known as Hempuli. Over the years he has released a lot of tiny experimental games, so many in fact that he is unaware of all of them. One of the games he remembers making is Baba Is You.

Even though i never wrote any Review before this one Noita deserves my praise. So, what can i say. Noita is one of my most played games of all time and that's for a reason. The World feels incredible, like it's alive and dangerous, you get the feeling that the there are things happening in this world even though you didn't neccesarily participate in whatever is going on there. There is always something to explore, or an interaction to try out. The satisfying Physics system plays its part in this too. I will never grow tired of exploding Walls, dissolving metal, electrocuting puddles or evaporating poisonous liquids. The Wand System with its flexibility is not just bywork but a complex and rewarding system on its own. While experimenting with different Wand Setups regularly gets you killed, it is enourmously satisfying when you get the hang of what makes a Wand good. But be warned this game does not like explaining things and has no Roguelite progression other than you gaining Game Know...

Impeccable wizard simulator. You start out with little sparkles and end up with absurd combinations of spells that delete enemies so hard the game crashes. Once you get really good you can figure out how to make these combinations out of the sparkles. (Be sure to give them suitably descriptive and grandiose names, such as 'recursive explosion,' 'infinite homing sawblades,' or my personal favorite, 'teleport into sun.')

After nearly 30 hours of playing, and not looking up anything. I have come to the conclusion that its not nearly as good as the fan boys said it is. Sure it has been a fun game at times. More often though it is not. I am a casual gamer, but I do enjoy hard games from time to time. Noita on the other hand is not just a hard game, it seems that is does not want you to play. Long and short of it. If you are a casual games try not to waste your time on this one. It is not worth the headache.

Noita is the result of looking at the "Powder Game" or "Hell of Sand" and saying what if i make a full game from this. It takes everything you love from classic sand-falling sandbox games but throws in magic, mayhem, and mystery. Filled to bursting with puzzles and magical customization so every run has a chance of you discovering something you had no idea existed, at least until you die of your own hubris by blowing yourself up, turning yourself into mincemeat with giga sawblades, or effing around with things you shouldn't.

I'm still discovering new mechanics. This game is crazy yo. The learning curve is slow but if you got patience and curiosity buy this game.

Install the game, get lost, die, restart, die again, restart, get a god run, get noita'd, uninstall the game, repeat. 10/10 best experienced drunk on Sima.

The game is truly captivating, and I've spent a significant amount of time on it. However, the more I played, the more I noticed that my decisions and actions had little impact on the outcome. It feels like success or failure is largely dependent on chance rather than my own skill. This is frustrating because I expected my abilities to be valued, not ignored. Instead, the game feels like it's just a time sink.
